Though the building is historic in nature, the hotel opened in 2006 and was designed with nature and the environment in mind. As a hotel we diligently work to embrace environmental practices that benefit our guests comfort and the hotel.

Bistro/Bar at 74
The Bistro/Bar at 74 is located on the second floor of Downtown Albany’s only boutique hotel. It features stunning floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking historic State Street. Lunch and light fare menus are served daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. 74 State is an historic boutique hotel that celebrates the American Art of Jazz, with LIVE performances every Saturday night. Let us elevate your spirit!

74 State was our venue. We used 74 State's private room for our ceremony and our reception. We had our cocktail hour in the lounge as they "flipped" the room for lunch. The private dining menu is very reasonable for the phenomenal food that is served. Of course, there were a few hiccups (a misunderstanding about the length of open bar, and a few issues with credit cards at check-out), but all were resolved quickly. We even had an after party in the Executive Suite for close friends and family and had a buffet up there. The hotel staff was really great the whole way. Ask for Emily, she'll take good care of you.
