We got our room block here. The rooms were still pretty expensive, they lost our paperwork the first time around, and required a 2 night minimum for our guests. Many of my guests ended up finding other accommodations, but they were the only hotel near our venues that could give us a block at all.
We did not have a great experience with the wedding coordinators, and the food was cold and dry. The boneless pork chop was so dry it was inedible for most people. It was delicious when we tried it at the tasting, but not good at the wedding. The wedding coordinators and some of the wait staff were rude to the father of the bride at the reception. They had problems with the kegs that we had bought of more expensive beer, they were not working for around a half hour of the cocktail hour. I have heard good things about this place for others, but our day was not good. They even misspelled my husbands (and my new) last name on the sign in the lobby! It was fixed after a while, but it was there long enough for friends to get pictures! Luckily my family hid a lot of the problems from me the day of, but it was so bad that we were refunded all of the pork chop meals and parts of other fees. The wedding coordinators did lie about all of the refunds when she spoke with me on the phone, but we met with the hotel manager to talk about the whole ordeal.
It is close and convenient to downtown! Otherwise expensive for the quality of the rooms. The staff is less than professional for the hotels location. But if all you need is place to stay, it works
Staff was inexperienced and young. This hotel is not attractive, and had a weird smell in the lobby. It's fine, but there are better options (Hilton) near the square and many better options off the square.
The people we worked with there were not responsive, and took a long time getting back to us with questions. We were organizing from out of town, which made this very frustrating. They changed our contacts a few times within a month. In the end, it was a gorgeous space with a great view. The food was mediocre. We had to provide our own centerpieces, which didn't end up being a problem. I would recommend going with someone else unless you must have the capitol view.
