With all of the revenue created by my out-of-town guests, they should have been more accommodating with special requests, etc.
The hotel is fairly new and everything is very nice, including the complimentary buffet breakfast. The customer service for block booking is not so great. They told multiple people that there were no rooms left in our wedding block to receive the discount rate, when in fact there were rooms left. It was a hassle trying to get the correct rates for people, though we were able to get it corrected for almost everyone.
After so many meetings with staff members and going over every detail, the reception should have been perfect. However, I was extremely disappointed in the way many of my plans were overlooked or forgotten. The bar setup was completely different than we discussed, the head table was set up wrong, and the lighting advice that I took from the event manager was a huge mistake. Overall, the service did NOT live up to its claim to be the "#1 Embassy Suites in the World", and I was disappointed immediately upon walking in to the ballroom at our reception. Food service was excellent, but the same cannot be said for the event staff that is responsible for carrying out my months of planning.
No one in the wedding party stayed here, but my husband and I stayed there for a company Christmas party once, it is a beautiful hotel and the rooms are very nice, but I think it's probably pretty pricey.
