The food at California Cafe is very good, although be warned, the bigger the guest count, the more problems you're likely to have. First, the restaurant's coordinators are not always terribly responsive. Secondly, we were definitely understaffed the day of our wedding (below the promised waiter to guest ratio promised at our meeting). We had several guests leave before we were served the main course (which was served VERY late). Several guests had trouble getting drinks refilled. Some didn't get a toasting glass. And finally, our vendors weren't served their meals per our contract. But the biggest disappointment was the way they handled it afterwards when we brought all these issues to their attention. We had a conference call with the manager and chef who apologized and agreed to provide gift cards to the guests/vendors who missed their meals, but it's been 3 weeks, and we haven't heard a peep from the restaurant. If you decide to have your reception here, just know that customer service can be spotty. We'd recommend having your own coordinator there to make sure service is provided properly.
