Bridal Concepts Catering

I am writing this review based solely on my experience with Bridal Concepts Inc. and Melissa the Caterer. Our venue was the Richardson Women's Center whom had Melissa and her company as one of the selections for catering. We were told no outside catering could be had. When we first met with Melissa we were shown trays and buffet tables of beautifully arranged food in large quantities both of which we did not receive. Upon arrival of the big day, she came into the reception area to set up and was very rude to both the mother of the groom and the mother of the bride along with everyone setting up. Told us what we could and could not do with the dishes that were not hers to say. I'm sorry who is the paying customer? Once all the food was set out it was clear the beautifully arranged buffet tables were for pictures only because what we got was huge gaps and tin foil! When one tray was emptied by our guest instead of replacing the tray with the new it was shoveled into the old container in front of the guests. They picked apart the 15lb turkey for 70 people (yep that's right 15lbs for 70 people) in front of guests as well! When confronted about the lack of food for what we had paid we were told some rather large people came through the line. Excuse me? This is a buffet! and in Texas I might add! She insisted she had been doing this for over 30 years etc etc and that she did have enough food for 70 people! No ma'am you did not! I'm not sure but I think spending closer to 4000 on food buys you more than one 15lb turkey and a sack of potatoes! To make things worse, I was told by the maid of honor, my sister that when she went back in the kitchen our gourmet pasta was classico from the nearest grocery store! The gourmet cheese tray was american and jack cheddar and the bread completely ran out for the artichoke dip we ordered! Once it came time to cut the cake, I had a guest ask for Chocolate (grooms cake) to which she barked out not until I'm finished cutting the bridal cake! Are you kidding? Surely one of the 8 staff people I paid for could cut the grooms cake while she cut the bridal cake! At the end of the day I spent thousands of dollars on food that wouldn't have cost me 800 dollars at the local grocery store, it was cold, tasted horrible and not worth the budget of feeding people. There were lots of unhappy wedding guests and one very pissed off bride and groom! Melissa must have known what she did was wrong because she gave us back a measly 200 dollars as if that would make up for the horrible job she did on our wedding day! Her bad attitude and unjust solution of what she called fixing things just shows the level of professionalism that this company has. Please stay away from this catering service as you will be disappointed. Something Melissa is not concerned about because the check has already cleared!!!
