Carson Memorial Park is a hidden gem of Chelmsford. I was told by the church secretary that we were only the second wedding to EVER be held in the park, which I could not believe!
It is an absolutely beautiful and quaint park located directly next to the Chelmsford Congregational Church. The church was nice enough to allow us access to the church sanctuary in case of rain on our big day. Thankfully it didn't rain on our wedding day, but it did rain during our rehearsal, so we did make use of the sanctuary then.
The park has a small white gazebo and room enough for chairs for approx 100 guests. The one drawback is that the church does not own chairs that you can use, so you will have to rent chairs of your own.
The church's wedding coordinator wasn't extremely helpful with planning our ceremony, but I think that was simply because she had never coordinated a wedding in the park previously. She was extremely well versed in coordinating ceremonies inside the church though.
One great thing about the park is the church has a huge parking lot, so parking is a non-issue for this venue, as it is for most parks.
We could not have picked a better spot to hold our ceremony- we received so many compliments on the location, and took some really beautiful pictures there after our ceremony!
