Hello Key West Brides! I am getting married on 10-13-12 at the Audubon House. There is a no tenting rule and we are thinking we may need a back up location that allows tenting and our caterer (so resturants are prob out) Anyone have an y ideas?? Thank you!

I would recommend the Truman White House which has an indoor and outdoor venue. Paul over there was very reasonable for fees. He worked with us for our Welcome Event. The grounds are beautiful and Historic. Our guests loved the place. Another recomendation would be the Hemingway House.

We got married at the Audubon House and they recommended the museum next to the westin- I would ask the people who work there or your caterer what venues they recommend.

It was fantastic- we had 30 people and with the space were able to have separate eating and cocktail/dancing spaces (we had our ceremony at a separate location). It is beautiful lit up at night and created such a great atmosphere that we didn't need to bring in anything to decorate the space other than centerpieces and linens for the cocktail and dining tables :)

Who is your caterer?

We are using great events catering and they are bringing all the furniture, linens etc... So we are just going to get some fresh blooms for the tables at a local place. The space seems so beautiful that we really dont need too much fluff. Becuase of the disjointed space between where people dance and eat did you have troupble getting ppl on the dance floor? could you easily hear the music from everywhere in the garden? Thank you for the feedback!

We used great events catering also! By the time we finished dinner (it was a sit down meal with 3 courses) people were ready to get up and stretch so we went right over and cut the cake which was setup in the dance floor area, so everyone came over to join us there. That was then a good time to get the dancing started and the fun continued from there :)

As far as not being able to hear the music during dinner, I really wasn't paying attention to it a lot because I was just trying to relax and take in the great conversations that were happening, so you don't want it to be too loud anyway. Plus there was general background noise from being outside so it's not like it's ridiculously quiet.
