Anyone have any ideas on where I can have our ceremony and reception in Ithaca on a budget? I'm not from the area and I am so lost with this.

Hi there...my husband and I got married in Stewart Park on the dock there and rented the large pavillion for $150 total for the day before and the day of our wedding so that we could clean up the pavillion/set up the night before and keep other groups out. It was so much fun and was absolutely beautiful-exactly how we imagined it!! We used Joe's restaurant to cater the wedding and used a local cake maker to make our sweetheart cake, then had my step-mom make cupcakes for the guests. I don't know if you're having a summer wedding, indoor, or outdoor but I know you can also get married in Taughannock State Park if you're looking for an outdoor venue. If you go with Stewart Park, you will need to call the Ithaca Youth Bureau - they'll give you more info. Also, the Youth Bureau may have more information for you on venues - they have a lot of information about Ithaca. This website is also helpful when looking at Ithaca: http://www.visitithaca.com/. Well I hope this helps you some! Good Luck and remember to have fun with all this!! It gets overwhelming so easily! I hope you have a fun and beautiuful wedding that fulfills all of your wedding dreams!! :)

Another great place to check out for is Robert H. Treman state park. They have a large pavilion which you can rent, which also costs $150 for the day. I didn't have my wedding there, and I'm still planning, but I just looked at it, and it's a beautiful pavilion. Very large and clean.

Whatever you do, do NOT use the Holiday Inn in Downtown Ithaca for ANYTHING.

What a nightmare!

Hello, we did our wedding at The Barn on Rt 96B. The cost of the rental is $2000 for the weekend, which includes tables, chairs, and linens. There is no additional charge if you get married on the lawn outside. You can also bring in your own food, alcohol, etc., so it's very easy to stay on budget that way. The owner was wonderful to work with, and it's a beautiful setting. The photos on their website are outdated and don't do justice to how beautiful and unique the space is.

Also, there are some beautiful pavillions at Taughannock Falls State Park, and they let you bring in a party tent. You have to be out by 10pm when the park closes though. Gorgous location - right on the water and sprawling gardens and lawns.
