Hi. I think it all depends on your church here. I got married in Cartagena in October. We went to our local church here in Miami. All we had to do was take a pre marital course that took place on a a Saturday from like 9-5. They had us answer a questionnaireof about 20 questions but they were more to discuss with each other. At the end we got our certificate and with that certificate, birth certificates and a questionnaire the church had given we turned it in and we were done. Congratulations and good luck.
Hello Everyone! My fiance and I are getting married through church in Cartagena (probably March 2012). He has not done his confirmation and now we're wondering what's the best/easiest/quickest way for him to get this done before we get married? Also, do we have to take the pre-marital course as well? We are extremely busy people and wanted to know if anyone has any tips or may have possibly gone through the same thing already. Thank you!!
i am in the same situation; fiance is not confirmed; we just realized all of this; we're getting married in Santo Toribio this December; i asked my WP about this and the priest at Santo Toribio told her the following: the church asks for a certificate of confirmation but they will not neceserarily require it in order for us to get married there; what they suggested is that my fiance schedules a date to have his confirmation AFTER the wedding, i guess just to show intent. i'm still a little fuzzy on the rules, i'll know more when i get to Cartagena this May.
