I was married on the southern end of Siesta Key on a beach called Turtle Beach. It's a little quieter down that end but the sand is not a white as on the Northern end. I was married right on the beach and did not have a wedding planner but let me highly recommend my music man, who sort of coordinated a lot of the day of events for me which were great. Check them out at http://www.delairentertainment.com they did a great job. Husband/Wife team that really get to know you. Also, we had good luck with our beach set up guy. He was a little hard to get a hold of prior to the event, but the beach looked great. You can find his website at: http://islandgirlsunsetweddings.com We had a lot of fun at a very casual rehersal dinner at a place called The Hub in Siesta Key. Also did a really nice job for us. They have some live music acts in the evenings. Find them at: http://thehubsiestakey.com Our wedding photographer was Studio Four Photography who did a great job through the wedding, however since that time it has been like pulling teeth to get them to follow thru with our order. It has been over 7 months since our wedding and we are still waiting on our storybook. Would not recommend trying to negotiate with them from afar. We had a small wedding (60-70people) And our reception was right across the road from the beach where we were married at a place called Turtles Restaurant. They also did a great job and the back of the restaurant backs up to the bay, which was beautiful at sunset. Hopefully my picture of the bay will load here. http://www.turtlesrestaurant.com Worth checking out. Food was really good and reasonably priced! Hope this is helpful. Best of luck!
Hi, and congrats! Siesta Key was a beautiful place to get married. My wedding was April 2008 on Siesta Key Beach. The white sand was beautiful--(I'm from West Virginia by the way) I used a wedding planner..Sunweddings (www.floridasunweddings.com) She was such a help and had great contacts for everything. I HIGHLY recommed her team! The cake was from Publix and it was SO GOOD! I ordered it directly from them. My photographer was wonderful--reasonable and very quick. His name is Joe Giorgianni. I had the wedding video made by Suncoast Video Productions--I was very pleased with their work. I held my reception at Coasters Restaurant. They have a room upstairs that was nice with a great view. They are located right on the coastal highway as you go over the bridge into Siesta Key.
How big of a wedding are you planning? I will try to post a picture with this. If you have any other questions, just post.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write me about your wedding vendors and location on Siesta Key. I have been in contact with Island Girl weddings and emailed a woman named Lynn Morris. She told me they offer packages but don't do wedding coordination anymore. She does do wedding photography though. Can you tell me what they offered you on the beach and how you made sure the beach wasn't occupied by other patrons or another wedding? I'm not sure how that works but I did like her wedding package items better than others I've seen online (ie. Barefoot weddings, siestakeywedding.com,) We hope to get married on the beach closer to the south end of the beach (beach access no. 7) and I'm struggling with deciding to hire a wedding coordinator or do it on my own. We will probably have about 40-50 at our wedding and all of them from out of town. Thanks for your recommendations on everything.

Thanks for your reply! I never knew that Publix made wedding cakes! Thank you for sharing your vendors and experiences with them. I will certainly check them all out. Do you know if you can get married anywhere on the beach or is there certain zoning rule for a location? You're picture looks beautiful! Thanks again for sharing.
Thanks, I just sent you an email.
There is a special area on the beach with a sign that says reserved for weddings. You walk down a wooden boardwalk and unto the beach and out to the wedding area. You can email me directly at [email protected] and I could emial you a link to my wedding and reception albums online. You can see what the area is like.
I forgot in the previous post...that is the only area for weddings now (unless they have changed it)I don't know what access # it is, but I could find out...they had them moved all there. It is on the northern end of the beach. Feel free to email with any questions!
I'm not sure if you have the same Island Girl that we used. There are a couple that share similar names. The link in my email should take you to the one we used with a guy named Mark I think. He provided the chairs, plants, bamboo arch, tiki torches, and would have provided music/stereo equipment for the wedding as well if we hadn't already had a music person. I believe he also associates with a couple of women who can perform the service and possibly photography. As for reserving the beach, the Island guy got there early in the day and set everything up and since the south end of the key is less crowded than the main Siesta Beach, he says that he doesn't have much trouble getting the space. We didn't need a permit or anything it's just first come first serve. With your size wedding too he may be able to set you up on another portion of beach further up that he has permission to use. It's really kind of nice with white sand, and rocks and the ocean right behind you. Our wedding was a bit too large for that particular area, but it looked nice. I'm sure he'd be able to tell you more about it and send pictures. I've seen it set up for a wedding and it looks really nice. I think my package was around $750 for everything(arch, 60-70 chairs, plants, tikis, sculpted aisle way). If you look at my wedding locations on my "view wedding" link, most of our guests stayed at the Holiday Inn listed there. If you call them you can get a group rate and it's less expensive than staying just over the bridge on the actual key. I also had a Publix cake. They are well known here in Florida as having great cakes and very reputable. I'm not sure what to tell you about the coordinator. It might be a good idea when coming from out of town. I live not too far away so I was able to get down that way to check on things and I did most of it myself.
