We are looking at the Red Corral Ranch. We live in Delaware and we are planning on booking this site un seen. Can anyone give us any information on the Ranch. It seems like alot of couples get married there, but iam having trouble finding any information on what type of vendors to use. Would really like to see some photos of other weddings from there, and what vendors they have used.

We got married at Red Corral about a year ago. It is a wonderful place. They have reccomendations for vendors which is what we based most of ours off of unless they were already booked.

We used Sullivan Street Caterers for our wedding food. Salt Lick BBQ for rehersal dinner. My mom did the flowers and we got them at Arnosky's wildflower farm (just down from the ranch) and the Austin Flower Market. Cake was from Coca Paloma in Austin (it was ok but there are lots of cake options). We used Dripping Springs Rentals for jsut about everything else. She did all our rentals and wedding coordination. She did a great job. Shawn Kennedy did our pictures and he was great. Our pictures are not up online with the photographer anymore, but he may be able to show you some.

We are getting married at the Red Corral Ranch in a few weeks! It's really beautiful out there and the cottages and Lodge are very cute. They are amazing people and have been really helpful. Their recommendations for vendors are good, too. I especially love Dripping Springs Party Rental for all of your tables, chairs, linens, bar and dinnerware. Kimberley (the owner of Driping Springs Party Rental) is doing our wedding coordinating, too, and she has lots of great ideas and suggestions.

Thank you for getting back to me about Red Corral Ranch. I would love to see some photos of your wedding. Did you use Kimberly for the whole wedding planning or just for the day of? I don't mean to sound cheep, but I am trying to save as much money as we can since we will be traveling cross country and trying to handle most of the wedding plans ourselves, and I see her fee is $2500.00 I also did not see the caterer you used on their recommended list. Thanks again for you input.

We used Kimberly for the day of wedding planning and she was great! She brought some assistants with her too. Since we were getting all the rentals from her she was already helping with the whole wedding planning. She was really organized and made the day stressless for us. Sullivan Street Caterers/ Briana Fuchs is on their online list of links. Good Luck!

Our caterer is out of Austin (where we live) and they are pretty amazing. My fiance and I both cook for a living and are very involved in the food scene here in Austin. We met with lots of caterers and we know lots of caterers and Pink Avocado Catering is the best. www.pinkavocadocatering.com Great food and a super-duper price! We are only using Kimberley for the day-of planning, not the whole shebang. She has still been super helpful and available to answer all of my questions. But I am very picky and really wanted to do it all myself. I'm sure she would be worth the money if you are planning from out-of-state.

My son is getting married in November as well. We are visiting Red Corral Ranch this Sunday. I'll get back with you on our findings. That way you can get a current status on the condition of the place.

Thank You, But the lady gave our date away. I called her and she told me that she would write our name in the book never said to me that she would give our date away since I was not leaving a deposit that day. We told her that my daughters boyfriend was in Iraq and we needed sometime to get in touch with him. I called back a week later to make the deposit and that is when she told me that a couple came in the weekend after I talked to her and they wanted it for that same date so she let them have it without so much as a follow up phone call to us let us know that she had another couple looking at the same date. We live cross country, so not sure if that had anything to do with it or not, and they were a done deal from Texas. She then told me that she had the next weekend free after she told us that Nov 28 and a weekend in July were the only open weekends she had for the year. Needless to say my daughter was heartbroken and now we are back to square one looking for another wedding venue. Hope you have better luck with Bobbie.

did you expect for someone to save your date without a deposit? don't make that mistake with any other wedding vendors! they give tours out there every day and they book the busy season a year in advance. if you're trying to get a wedding together for fall, you'd better put some deposits down fast!

I'm so sorry to hear that your date was given away. But it really isn't worth all the money they want for a Friday and Saturday deal. I couldn't believe that if you wanted a Saturday Wedding you'd have to take the Friday before as well. It's way too expensive.
The more reasonable option is a Sunday but I personally do not want to inconvenience my guests into having to take off of work the following day to get back home from out of town.
The cottages are cute. But the Deerfield Cottage is a double wide mobile home made to look like a cottage. They did a pretty good job but still it is a mobile home.
And really I'd be concerned about guest drinking in celebration and having to drive on those farm roads back into a surrounding town to spend the night. The only real option is to rent their cottages or lodge. And it's not like getting a hotel room. You'd have to share one of the cottages with someone to make it cost effective. And share a bathroom as well.
Don't get me wrong, the indoor pavilion is nice and the outside decking, trees and lawn are beautiful. But not worth as much as they want for it.
We're still looking. There are much nicer places in Austin downtown with nearby hotels. Many Mansions to choose from. Barr Mansion, Judges Mansion and Allan House. Allan House has outdoor ceremony sites as well. Absolutely stunning! And if you're looking for a great indoor place the Caswell House is gorgeous!

Oh! I forgot to mention... A couple of other places that I found and will be checking out this coming weekend is Texas Old Town in Kyle, Tx. http://www.texasoldtown.com/events_weddings.htm They are just south of Austin about 20 miles.
And Las Brisas Farm in Fayetteville, Tx. They are just about 80 miles east-southeast of Austin.
http://www.lasbrisasfarm.com/garden_weddings.php Very reasonable!
I hope that we get a chance to look at both this weekend. If so, I'll get back to you with my findings.

I am sorry you didn't get your date and that ylord didn't think the ranch was that great. We had an amazing experience having our wedding at Red Corral. The ranch is beautiful and a all the accommodations on site are a great option if you are having our of town family and guest (as we did). We got to relax and enjoy the WHOLE weekend with everyone that made the trip to come to our "destination" wedding. I was sitting by the pool laughing with friends two hours before the wedding started. Isn't that what it is all about anyway? Spending time with the people close to you? We were worried about our friends who didn't stay at the ranch driving too so we hired a van that ran from the town to the ranch. By the way, we didn't get our first or second choice on the date either. We thought we had it and called the next day toe reserve and someone else had snuck in there before us. We took a date a few weeks later and it all worked out.
Good Luck finding that perfect spot. We looked at the Ye Kendall Inn in Bourne (?) too.

Here is a great blog from a couple that visited many different venues in the Austin area. They even created a top ten list! The couple ultimately chose Memory Lane Event Center as their favorite. Hope this helps.
