I would post on the Knot.com Chicago Board. There were postings around a month ago on someone out of their home near Orland mall.

I have a fantastic seamstress who works out of indiana (probably a 45 minute drive from orland). I know her wok and she is almost done making my wedding dress so I can vouch for her! (and she is completely affordable)
I also know someone in (a friend of my aunt's) in Palos Hills area that does alterations and dress making. I will check with my aunt if it's alright if I pass the info out to you, but they are both EXTREMELY affordable compared with the seamstresses and wedding shops I've been quoted.
