Have you checked out the Delany House or Log Cabin. That is in Holyoke... Thats what I am doing.
I've performed at both of those venues as well, several times. I would reccomend the Log Cabin, as it is in a much nicer location and has amazing views, however it is probably more expensive. The Log Cabin can also be a bit of a wedding factory, with 2 or 3 weddings happenning at once. They have a pretty good layout though, so each event feels pretty private to thre guests, but maybe less so for the bridal party.
i am getting married may 2011 and we need to find an area where we can take wonderful picture in the springfield,ma area or close to springfield. any suggestions.
If you want to stay right in Springfield I might recommend Forest Park. They have a lot of nice gardens and waterfront for outdoor photos. If you're worried about rain you might want to check out the Wistariahurst Museum in Holyoke (www.wistarihurst.org), about 10 minutes from Spfld. There you have the option of the outdoor gardens as well as the inside of the museum, which is a beautiful old mansion with a marble music room that is amazing. I hope that helps!
We are getting married at the Hampden Country Club. It's about 30 minutes from Springfield. The Hotel Northampton is also a nice venue. Good luck!
We are getting married at Summit View Banquet & Meeting House in Holyoke.
