I blocked rooms at the Palace Hotel. They are SO nice. My wedding is June 12... so they haven't stayed there... But they are great to deal with and don't require 2 nights. There rates are good too for weddings. I think ours is betwen 125 and 140 depending on when guests booked.
I also booked a block of rooms at the Palace Hotel. It was reasonable, clean, and appropriate for the weekend. Our reception was at the Grand Hotel and they provided a select number of one night stays as well.
Thank you so much girls! I was very hesitant on blocking rooms there because the reviews were so awful. It is nice to hear some positive things about it. The Grand will not block rooms if we are not having our wedding there. I was really hoping that would not have been an issue but I guess The Grand is definitely out. Thanks again!
The Atlas Inn will block rooms for you but you have to reserve them for $20 per room. You can choose to have the $20 taken off the cost of the room for your guests or they will refund the money to you after the wedding. However, they do require a two-night stay. The rates are are pretty reasonable.
Also, if you are thinking of blocking rooms at the Palace they will show you the rooms. I also blocked rooms at the beach shack and the hotel alcott where the reception is. They both required 2 nights. However, some of my guests were able to book a one night stay at the Beach Shack on Hotels.com. I also blocked rooms at the La Mer, but no one in my wedding has booked there. Where is your reception and what time of year?
Thank you! My reception is at The Abbie Holmes Estate outside of Avalon next May 21, 2011. I almost booked at The Hotel Alcott for our wedding but we decided to go with The Abbie.
