Hi, I am planning my wedding for October 2017 & wanted to have my reception somewhere outdoors. I plan to have approximately 50-60 guests. Any ideas or recommendations would be truly appreciated!

I would recommend Casa Pombo. It really beautiful and perfect for your guest count. We went to see it and didn't choose it because our guest count was over 100. It also has an ballroom. October is rain reason so having that room may be a good idea. Here is the site. http://www.casapombo.com/en/
Good Luck!

Hotel movich has a beustoifk terrace overlooking the whole city and ocean. I had my ceremony and cocktail hour there, then the reception at Casa Estrella. It has a beautiful area around the pool which is covered so it protects from rain, but it also offers the outdoor feeling. My planner was caribe cordial.

Thanks everyone for the information! Now I would love to have my reception at one of these boutique hotels, however, I have to stay at the hotel correct? I am planning to stay at the same resort as my guests, therefore, all my guests wouldn't fit in a boutique hotel is that correct?

We rented Casa Estrella, which is where I also had the reception. We stayed 5 days with 20 of our guest. The remaining guest stayed at hotel movich. If you want to stay in the same place, then you need to look for bigger hotels like charleston santa Theresa; although I had better service at the small luxury hotel movich, and even better at Casa Estrella. The house is yours and your guest, no outsiders and the people who work there are always taking care of all your needs.

Yes, for Casa Pestagua you do have to rent out the hotel and it does sleep < 30 people. We had our family and close friends stay there and the other guests stayed at places nearby. Very walkable and so many amazing boutique hotels in the area.

Hi,

Firt of all, congratulations in your engagement!!!
Planning your wedding in Cartagena will be an amazing and romantic experience, and it can be at times very stressful.
I got married May 2014 in Cartagena. I had a beautiful wedding and I would do it all over again. We had about 75 guests. Casa Pombo was perfect and beautiful. Casa Pombo is divided into small apartments rather than rooms, so you should be able to accomodate around 40 people.
I hired Sandra Vasquez for the decor (her prices were reasonables) and she also coordinate some other vendors like band, catering with adriana Santos, photographers.

Hi. I just got married In Cartagena on Feb 13, 2016. my reception was at Casa Pestagua and I had 89 guests (originally had 114) but with Zika a lot of my friens who were pregnant and their husbands had to cancel their trip.

At first I was going to do it at Casa Pombo, then I changed my mind to Casa Pestagua which was the place I always wanted to do it at. I was indecisive about locations due to the prices, but you only get married once right? So what the hell, I went for my dream location!

My guests stayed at Morros condos (which are very economical yet modern right on the beach) the entire week and then 22 people were invited to stay at Casa Pestagua Friday-Sunday (wedding party such as bridesmaids, grooms men and immediate family).
You must stay at the houses at least two nights if you want to use the venue for your reception. The rest stayed at the condos or moved to the walled city and stayed at different hotels.

I had no wedding planner, I did it all myself and it turned out to be amazing. I want to get into wedding planning myself. I have a lot of experience here in the US with events, and now with my wedding being such a hit and a success I am currently working on my sisters and another girl who reached out to me after seeing my pictures. I am trying to start my own company, if you would like more information my email is [email protected] I can send you pictures or you can view them once I update my wedding mapper page. (will update shortly, just got back from Cartagena).
