Hi,
I got married Valentines Day 2014. I live in the US too. Was pretty easy to plan via Skype. Our wedding planner was Caribe Cordial they did an amazing job. We had about 50 guest in total. The planners will work with whatever your budget is.
Good luck!
Thank you so much for your response. If you don't mind me asking, what was your budget? :) and did you end up staying within that budget.

I got married in November, 2014 and we spent $23,000 USD in a wedding for 40 people. This included the apartment we rented the week before the wedding, round-trip flights (Boston-CTG for me and Sydney-CTG for my husband), open bar, a 3-course meal, late night snacks (empanadas, arepas de huevo, etc), hora loca and 4 days in an All-Inclusive Hotel in San Andres as our honeymoon. I did most of the planning myself, but worked with the hotel to organize the food. Here's all the info of the vendors I used:
Ceremony and reception: El Marques Hotel Boutique
Decoracion: Xiomara Angulo de Alheli Floristeria & Eventos (she is a registered wedding planner)

Hi Ingrid,
I got married in Cartagena In August 2014. We also used Caribe Cordial as our wedding planner. They did an amazing job. You can click on my profile to see all vendors and more info. We had 60 people and we spent about $35,000 which included the colonial house where we stayed and had the reception; plus another $3,000-$4,000 when we got there on tuxedos rental (shipper and faster than the US), alcohol for the reception, excess for cocktail hour, etc. Our budget when we started planning was $15,000 for 45 people, as the people increased so did the expenditures. We ended up spending more than double our budget, so be prepared to spend more than what you are budgeting even if your people don't increase. There are always last minute things. Also, pay attention to the contracts and ask questions, make sure everything is included. Our reception was at a hotel, and 20 days before the wedding I found out that the price quoted 8 months prior, didn't include glasses and plates. Good luck.
Hi ingrid,
I'm getting married in Cartagena in June 2015, my wedding planner is juan camilo from caribe cordial. He is excellent, we do all our meetings on Skype and to be honest it works pretty well. We are spending around usd 25, 000 but it includes the house where we are staying for the weekend and also doing the wedding ceremony and reception. Withing the budget is also included photographer, food, cake, dj, violinist, saxophone, band, service, drinks, decoration, we have around 80 people invited. ...... the down side of having a wedding in Cartagena is that the vendors like to take there time to do everything and you hato accommodate to what they have.
Hi Susan,
Your wedding budget, number of guests and all sounds pretty similar to what i'm looking to spend with about the same number of guests. I'm curious where are you having your wedding ceremony and reception?
Thanks! :)
