This can be easily done by having a stunning ceremony, with a freelance photographer taking your pictures, followed by a cake and champagne reception. You do not need to feed everyone if you time the event during the daytime.

We did cut our guestlist down a bit and I wished we hadn't! They wont all show up and the more guests the more gifts! :) Might as well invite everyone you want to invite!

the cost really comes down to the reception dinner. We invited everyone, but we only think about half will show up (most are from out of state). If you keep your per plate cost down...you can pretty much have a low cost wedding...plus i work in sales..always go to the specific vendor...if you have time to organize the wedding yourself. If you are doing it through a thrid party there is always going to be an upcharge.

We did a more casual reception at Gilligan's Island Bar and Grill. They set up a private area for us outside on the back patio and it was really beautiful! We did a buffet style meal with appetizers, salad, sides and a few different entrees for over 50 people and it cost around 1100. That also included two self serve kegs, champagne and wine. The servers were great and I was really happy with everything. It didn't look low budget at all!

One of the reasons we had a destination wedding was because we wanted it to be small and only close friends and family there. I have a lot of friends/co workers, etc that I could have invited but we carefully composed the guest list of close family and friends and ended up inviting about 65 and 50 actually made the trip. I sent out invites to people I knew would not be able to make the trip but they appreciated being invited and I felt good about including them. We pretty much knew who would be able to attend because it would cost them to travel. We used Village Cafe catering and they were fabulous! Not only did they have delicious food and 2-3 staff people to set up, serve and bartend, but the owner helped set up chairs, tear them down, serve and stay around afterward for clean up. They provided so many extras that I needed help with since I didn't have a paid wedding coordinator. They certainly went above and beyond and were experienced in doing so. I loved them and visit Tom everytime I got back to SK.
