Looking for intimate spot in nelson area to hold outdoor ceremony: would like beach or beautiful garden/park setting. Am planning from northern BC, and would like some ideas or suggestions. I do know about Blaylock, and spoke with them already.

Thanks, and happy planning to all....

Hi Tami,

Nelson has a lot of beautiful beach areas and several nice parks. How many people are coming to your wedding?

The golf course has lots of room and a banquet area for your reception. It has beautiful views of the lake:

These areas would not be as good for a large wedding and are public spots so you would have to contact city hall for more information on hosting your wedding there:

Cottonwood Park (has a beautiful waterfall)
Gyro Park (Nice view of the lake and city)
Taghum beach
Lakeside Park

Here is a link to some vacation rentals, some of which are on the lake:

Another option is getting married up in the mountains:

Well, I hope this helps you a bit or at least someone else since your post date is from April.

Hi Tami,

Glad you checked out Blaylock's. It is one of the most beautiful and historic locations to get married in Nelson. Here are some photos from a wedding there:

Kokanee Springs golf course has beautiful scenery for an outdoor wedding. You can view images at

And another option is to rent a house on the lake, such as one at Crescent Beach. There is a great one just next to the Kokanee Creek Park. Here are a few weddings from this wedding:

Beach Taghum Bed & Breakfast also has a lakefront lawn for your ceremony and your groom can arrive by boat! Here is a slideshow of images:

There are quite a few restaurants out here that would be nice.
1) The Napa Rose -found at the Grand California Hotel has a private dining area that is beautiful. fnaf sister location online There is a fire place and doors that step out onto a patio. The food is that of the Napa/ Sonoma region of California. Service is excellent and very attentive.
2) There is a beautiful French restaurant in Downtown Fullerton called The Celler.
3) if you're looking more for the Beach area- say Laguna you can try a place in the "pepper tree lane" area , it recently changed hands and believe it is now called Watermarc. It's a beautiful little setting especially at night with a little corridor reminescent of a little side street in western Europe. There is also a small standing room only bar/ tavern and the most fantastic chocolaterie. It would be a great place for pictures as well.
