Married outside at bride's parents cottage on the lake. Headed to town for an indoor reception at the Masonic Ballroom. The Ballroom is a great central location. Easy to transport flowers from the farmer's market at Phoenix Park to the Ballroom for the tables.
Yankee Jack's is an ideal wedding caterer: professional, on time, delicious, efficient, flexible and affordable. The owner Jack is experienced and willing to give helpful suggestions on how to keep your reception running smoothly. Very personal service from the very beginning at the tasting. We used them for the reception a served dinner and the next day for a BBQ lunch buffet. Wait staff is professional and well dressed.
Creative, personalized all in one wedding invites that fold up and are mailed with regular postage. Our guests loved how creative they were and having all the information in one place. The website is a little tricky to navigate but once you narrow it down you will have one on one contact with the designer working on your invites. Photos and maps specific to your wedding can be printed on the invite.
Create a gift registry for your honeymoon! Very easy and free (only pay to upgrade). Our guests loved seeing our honeymoon plans laid out and being able to give us money towards specific things. Once your guest has selected what they want to pay for they just send you a personal check! No extra hidden fees to pay online. We were given $2,030 towards are Iceland honeymoon.
We rented chairs for our outdoor ceremony and bought an aisle runner from A-1. These were the most comfortable and affordable white chair in Eau Claire. They have a small display room of wedding rental items from arbors to punch bowls. We had plenty of time to set up and take down the chairs without having to pay extra fees (rental for a Saturday wedding was from Friday to Monday).
Cost Cutters on Madison street by Phoenix Park. Affordable $30 up due styles and they are open Saturday morning at 9. As the bride I went in a head of time to see if my style would work - I had the same stylist for the wedding day. We only had a problem with one up due as that worker didn't know how to do one and didn't say so until the bridesmaid was in tears with how it had turned out.
A great place to get beautiful cheap flowers! We bought a bunch of flowers and used them for all the bouquets, boutonnieres, and centerpieces. We bought flowers for the centerpieces on Thursday afternoon and they held up great till Saturday 4pm reception. Wedding ceremony flowers were bought the morning of at 7a.m when they open.
Excellent service with tuxedos. Roxie, helped my groom track down an out of season tux that he really wanted. We had 9 rentals in 3 different colors and they all went in together and it all went smoothly and quickly.
There is a wedding registry specific person that will help manage your registry. If you open a Macy's charge account you earn money for gifts bought for you (we earned a $70 gift card). We received 20% to complete our registry and were able to add new things to the registry We will get 10% for 6 months after the wedding to add anything else.
The Masonic Ballroom is an ideal all in one wedding venue. There is plenty of space to be creative with seating and dance floor. There are 4 caterers that work with the Ballroom so that helped to narrow down our choices and provides a caterer that is familiar with the kitchen they will be using. There are beautiful decorations that can be rented (scarves to put on the columns and lights and a skirt to hang along the bar). Bridgit, the coordinator is patient and helpful. There is a PA system in the dining room that was great for playing dinner music. We wanted a large even dance floor and were very happy with the result. You have plenty of time to put up and take down decorations (from Thursday-Monday of your weekend). You will be the only wedding for that weekend so the service is personal. Bathrooms are large and clean - the girls has a wall mirror that is great for checking out your dress. The chapel was reserved as our rain option (beautiful painted back ground screens from a forest to a stain glass church wall). Plenty of free parking in the public lots and streets nearby. It is a beautiful historic building. My dad is a Mason so it meant a lot to him to have the reception there.
