Our wedding couldn't have gone any better - the biggest lesson I learned is that the less details you have the better since there is just fewer things that could get messed up! Also, a country wedding was a fantastic way to have a unique wedding that many of our city friends hadn't experienced. We also saved a TON of money :)
Tom was fanstastic - he had a great questionaire that we went through prior to the wedding. He kept the wedding moving quickly, kept my husband and I on track, and then got everyone on the dance floor. He played all the music my husband and I wanted and we had a great time dancing all night! I would definitly recommend EZ Tymes DJ.
We worked with the Liquor Locker to supply all drinks for the wedding - they were very reasonably priced and brought in all the beverages and picking up what was left over. They even buy back what you don't use! We supplied our own bartenders but they had a list of suggested bartenders to help us through that process.
The cake was one of the things I was most looking forward too. We chose Dee because she had the perfect combination of delicious cake and yummy frosting. We realized that we had a bit of a mis-communication when the cake didn't have the right filling, but Dee was very gracious and worked with us. We got lots of compliments on how good the cake was and I thought it looked beautiful!
I can not say enough good things about Nichole. From our enagement session to the last shot of the wedding she captured the most AMAZING pictures. We have gotten so many compliments from our friends and family saying our photos looked like they should got in a magazine! We have moved to Texas but I plan on heading back up and using Nichole for all the major events in our life!!!!!
The barn was beautiful - I am so glad that the owners Amy and Kirby took on the adventure of renovating two old barns and turning them into amazing venues! We constantly recieved praise from our guests on the venue - it really made our reception the success it was!
I highly recommend offering a shuttle service to your guests since it is in the middle of the country and the roads can be a bit scary at night for those that aren't used to driving in the country.
The hotel is now called Sufari Joes and no longer the Ramada. The hotel was perfect since it was the closest to our venue and offered a shuttle (from what I understand they are no longer offering that option). Our guests were a little freaked out by all the taxidermy in the lobby, but it definitly offer a lot of great conversations for weeks to come. The hotel rooms were very clean and nice with flat screens.
