The park was beautiful that day, and the weather even better! Not a normal windy South Dakota day. Although a bit warm, we had a nice breeze to cool everything down. We used the kitchen in the nearby Elementary School for putting together the light meal and drinks we served for the party. We brought extra table and chairs to add to the existing picnic tables that were under the shelters. Altogether, we had about 160 guests and truly enjoyed our special day with family and friends.
We used the Winner City park on the west side of town for our afternoon reception. The city had done a nice job of cleaning up the grounds. The grass was green, and we even saw workers pruning trees the day before. The only detail which was overlooked was the restrooms. They were locked, and we had to call city staff to get them unlocked. For most of the party, we were unable to use the restrooms there. Fortunately, we were also renting out part of the Elementary School facilities where we were able to send guests to use those.
