Judy was an absolute pleasure to work with during our wedding planning process. She's extremely creative and resourceful...and brought such great ideas and vision to the design aspect of our day. We felt completely comfortable with her and knew we could rely on her to deliver beautiful floral decor & design. Judy is very dedicated to her work and it shows from initial concepts to final product.
Kate & Katherine from Head Games traveled to the Inn on Peaks to do hair for the bridal party and they were AWESOME! I've been in my fair share of weddings and there's usually at least one or two gals that are unhappy with their do, but everyone was completely satisfied with their looks. And they were all so unique and different. No one looked the same. They were extremely easy to work with, & very sweet. They came with all sorts of fun pieces (extensions, etc...) to work with if necessary and made us all look gorgeous!
Bob Pratte and Mirage Band are GREAT! They had never played on Peaks Island, but dealt with all of the logistics playing on the island as if they'd done it all the time. We had them play acoustic guitar and flute for our ceremony on the beach, a jazz trio for cocktail hour on the patio/lawn and the full 7-piece band for dinner and reception. They had the dance floor packed the entire night. No one wanted to stop listening to them or dancing!
Not only is Emilie one of the most talented, well-respected wedding photographers in the greater Northeast, she is one of the sweetest, most dedicated and inspiring people I've ever met. She approaches each wedding with a clean slate and truly brings the essence of the couple and their wedding day to life in her photos.
We opted to do a dessert buffet rather than a traditional wedding cake and Two Fat Cats did an absolutely amazing job. We featured assorted pies, cupcakes and cookies and although we ordered above and beyond the quantity recommended, there was nothing left - Everyone devoured it all. Their prices are very reasonable. They're extremely efficient and easy to work with and their desserts are to die for.
Shannon and Brianna from The Makeup Shop traveled to the Inn on Peaks to do makeup for the bridal party and they were GREAT! They came equipped with lashes and products galore and made us all look polished and glowing, yet still natural. They were very comfortable to be around & easy to work with.
We hosted our rehearsal dinner at Hugo's and it was amazing. Rob and Nancy Evans are down-to-earth and extremely welcoming and hospitable people. Rob is an extremely talented, James Beard Award Nominated Chef who brings such a unique vision to his food. The caliber of the culinary experience at Hugo's is evident in everything from their simple & elegant decor, to the fresh, local, in-season ingredients they use to create their meals and libations. Coming from families with rich culinary traditions, it was the perfect place to kick-off our wedding weekend celebration with our closes friends & family.
Kirby Johnson of Cityside Events was great! She helped us pull the nuances of our day together and executed everything the day-of with the utmost confidence. She facilitated deliveries and managed all aspects from start to finish to ensure that everything went smoothly. She was accommodating and thoughtful and really went above and beyond the call of duty for us. She is very talented and was a pleasure to work with!
We had our ceremony on the lawn of the Peaks Island House in front of the gazebo looking back towards Portland. We were able to use the chairs from the Inn on Peaks where our reception was to be held. It was a nice way to incorporate being on the beach and having separate locals for the ceremony and reception. The folks at the Peaks Island House were totally "hands-off". They don't host wedding receptions there, and therefore, don't get involved in the planning of your ceremony. We communicated with them via email and everything went smoothly. We were very happy we decided to have the ceremony on the beach. It was ther perfect, intimate ceremony setting.
The Inn on Peaks is a wonderful location to have your Maine wedding. Guests take a boat out to the island, experiencing the coast along the way. The rooms are gorgeous, spacious cottage-style suites -- perfect for wedding-day preparations. The staff are great. They're constantly making updates and enhancing the space and outdoor appeal. The pub downstairs is great for a bridal luncheon the day before or lunch the day after! The combination of the tent outside, patio and indoor space provide a nice flow from cocktail hour, to dinner to dancing. We are thrilled we chose the Inn on Peaks to host our wedding day.
