Overall, our wedding was a lot of fun. Getting married outside in Texas in the middle of summer is definitely risky. San Marcos vendors were decently priced, and for the most part provide quality service. I however, would consider moving a wedding to a nearby larger city to get a better range of options, specifically on venues.
We loved working with this vendor! The owner clearly recreated our vision, and the cake could not have tasted any better. We both wanted to tear into our frozen top layer a week later just to get some more. (No worries, we fought the urge.)
Our wedding was loads of fun thanks to the amazing vendors that we had. All but the cake baker and the caterer were pulled out of Austin. However, I would not recommend this venue to anyone. The owner was rude, and surly, and standoffish because she couldn't have complete control over everything at the wedding. She claims to double as the coordinator, but did not coordinate one thing. My best friend's mother had to step in and do her job. Then she did not tell anyone that she did not get the outdoor air conditioners she had promised us, and instead replaced them with fans that are rendered useless against Texas summer heat. When I asked her about them, she said that they didn't get there in time to pick them up, and they didn't call ahead. Then she proceeded to whine at me, and ask if I enjoyed it anyway, but her only job was to get the venue in working order, and she failed. While her staff was kind and amazing, she was rude, and some of my guest reported such behavior. On top of that, she requires that you rent a room for two nights at the venue, but the door was broken and there were hairs on the sheets and dead bugs on the floor. Fortunately, I had great people around, and am pretty good at making light of things in the moment, but if I had to do it again, I would run in the opposite direction of this venue.
