We really enjoyed getting married in Mooresville, NC. It was a little far from where we live (about an hour), so coordinating everything in the days before the wedding took some work, but it was worth it. The only thing I would say about a late evening outdoor wedding in early November is that it will be chilly.
The setting was beautiful and the food was really good! My only complaint with Carrigan Farms was that they only provide plastic portapotties for facilities and that wasn't really what I wanted for my wedding. Renting a nicer restroom trailer was very expensive. If I'd known that Carrigan's bathrooms wouldn't be built by my fall wedding (they were scheduled to be completed over the summer when I signed my contract), I may have continued looking.
Davidson Village Inn was a perfect compromise for us. We were looking for something close to our wedding location that was small and nice and would photograph well, since we planned to get ready at the inn. The large suite we got was perfect. Even better, the front desk volunteered to hold some of the post-wedding stuff (gifts, cake, etc) so my new husband and I could go to our room after the wedding and recover undisturbed. The only suggestion I would make is to check out the rooms before you book - the wall colors are different and the bright green on the walls in my room could really clash with some wedding colors for pictures! It worked for us, but might not work for everyone =)
