Our wedding was fantastic!! It wasn't as cold in late December as we expected! And flying to Florida for honeymoon didn't hurt either. ;-)
Jason and Lori Burcham are AMAZING!!!! They did an absolutely amazing job on our GORGEOUS four tier cake!! We also had 10 other small round cakes made and the flavors they have to choose from are absolutely fantastic. We had mint chocolate, chocolate hazelnut, creme brulee, dolce (a caramel yellow cake), etc. It was so wonderful!! They also did a variety of other desserts like wedding cookies, lemon iced cookies of some sort (the details are a little hazy already!), a variety of Christmas cookies as it was a late December wedding, and they even did little servings of Shrimp and Grits! It was awesome!
Steve at Garden Delights is a genius! He will meet with you for a few consultations, get the feel of your wedding, find out what your dress and bridesmaid's dresses look like etc, and then offer great ideas and tips for the wedding party's flowers, colors, reception decor ideas and arrangements, stage decor or whatever else you would like to discuss. He is great to work with and his work is phenomenal. We love him (and his business)!
We got married in our church building which was formerly a school, but not the school only uses one section of the building. It's painted neutral beige and brown colors and carpeted brown, but even a carpeted gym is still a gym. The plus side is they have a nice lighting system in place, the basket ball hoops can be raised up mostly out of sight, and if you have a nice budget, you could do any kind of draping or string lights and it could be lovely. We had dim lighting with paper lanterns over half of the room and uplighting around the walls. We got married on the stage which was decorated with a chandelier and strings of silver shiny discs that hung from ceiling to floor. Not to mention the room can hold 500 people (not common). All in all it was lovely and we were thrilled to be able to use the building! :)
