Our wedding in Colorado was fantastic!! It was a destination wedding and so all of the wedding party and guests were coming from out of town. We enjoyed putting together our Wedding Mapper page and we received many compliments from our guests about how wonderful it was to access the locations and directions to each event as well as how easy the webpage was to use. Since our guests had come so far to be a part of our celebration, we felt really good about providing them with a tool so that they could know about the events we had planned for the wedding festivities, but also activities and highlights that Colorado had to offer.
We knew that we would like Susan from our first phone call with her, but we didn't appreciate how much we would love working with her or how fantastic our photos would turn out. On our wedding day, she was warm, professional and just fun to take pictures with (the usually dull task of taking countless family photos when everyone really just wants to get to the cocktails was not the case at our wedding!). After the wedding, she was remarkably quick to return the final pictures to us and we could not be more pleased with the quality of our images. Even the posed shots are well-composed - if only we could decide on which ones we will frame! Also, as a very nice touch, she sent us a thank you note for the tip we gave at the wedding. It wasn't necessary by any means, but it is a testament to what a nice person Susan is. There aren't any children in our immediate future, but once there are, we can't wait to work with Susan Armitage again to capture more of our memories!
We had a wonderful time working with Carolyn. She had so many wonderful ideas for personalizing our ceremony and making it our own. Our guests could not say enough good things about her and how personal and intimate our ceremony was. She was supportive and helpful throughout the planning and arrived early to the wedding to give the wedding party a "pep talk" about savoring the moments of our special day that I won't ever forget.
Our cake was beautiful (exactly what I had always dreamed about), but I could go on for days about the taste!! I have been to a lot of weddings where the cake looks better than it tastes...not at our wedding! We had two different flavors, chocolate chocolate chip with peanut butter cream and vanilla with key lime filling, both were fantastic! I can't wait for our one year anniversary so that I get some more of Marci's incredible cake!!
We used Reale Decorating for our flowers and decorating. Deby was wonderful to work with and she was as enthusiastic about our wedding as we were. She had a lot of photos of her previous work, which we used as inspiration for our arrangements and also gave me a lot of confidence in her final product. On the wedding day, I held it together until I saw the bouquets for the wedding party. I burst into tears because they were so much more beautiful than I could have imagined. The centerpieces and flowers for the ceremony were just as incredible and really transformed the blank canvas of our ceremony and reception site into a space that was truly our own.
I cannot say enough good things about Lionscrest Manor. From our first meeting with the staff, they were helpful and were instrumental in our planning, as it was all done from New York. On the wedding day, the staff was incredible (we felt incredibly well taken care of and our guests were very impressed by their kindness and professionalism)and if there were problems that day, we didn't know about them, because they were simply taken care of. I was very "hands-on" in planning my wedding and I was a little nervous that I would not be able to let go of the responsibility and enjoy my day, but the staff at Lionscrest had such total control over everything, that there was nothing for me to be stressed about...not one thing! I also can't say enough about how lovely the facility is, the outside, inside, even the bathrooms, are beautiful. When I look at websites, I'm often skeptical about how "doctored" the photos are, but Lionscrest is just as beautiful, if not more, in person as it appears on their website.
Our wedding party and all guests stayed at the Springhill Suites and we received many compliments on what an incredible hotel we found. The rooms are spacious, with free wireless internet, and the complimentary breakfast was substantial and provided a great area to congregate with our party and guests each morning. Also, the staff was wonderful, from setting up the group rate, to distributing our "out-of-town gift bags", they were friendly and helpful throughout the process. And, they weren't just wonderful to us, because we were the bride and groom, they were courteous to every guest above and beyond what we expected.
We had a welcome party at the Pumphouse Brewery and it was great! We had a small bar area to ourselves for drinks and appetizers with our out-of-town guests. The food was great and the beers even better and the staff was excellent. Our ages ranged from 1 to 80 and everyone had fun. There are games, pool tables and an air hockey table, which were all a big hit with our guests, young and old.
We had our rehearsal dinner at Andrea's Homestead Cafe and it was wonderful. Andrea was so wonderful to work with as we put together our menu and added special touches like flowers on the table and a personalized menu. The food was fresh and homemade and the staff was friendly and very professional. We had a great time and I would highly recommend Andrea's Homestead Cafe for a rehearsal dinner, or just a lovely, homemade, cozy meal.
