Hello, this is Shawn from Snow Trails and I thought it would be worth adding a few comments to the previous review. I appreciate us getting a good rating and review in light of the mentioned power outage.
It's important to note that the power outage was county wide and not local to our facility in any way. No facility in North Central Ohio has a generator of the size required to solve such a need including hotel, halls, VFW or the country clubs! We didn't try to contact our maintenance to get a generator but was trying to contact the power company through our ski season channels (we use serious power in the winter) to find out the specifics of the failure...something that most local facilities wouldn't have, phone numbers of important people at the power company!
It's worth noting that the non-professional DJ (just a friend of the client) left the minute the power went out and as we waited for the power to return (as he didn't). There was minimal lighting from candles but they just needed music to keep it rolling...comping a few drinks seemed like a good idea. I don't think we were obligated to return money or comp drinks on any level...but chose to take a loss on this one to ease the frustration of the client and to keep our reputation in check...we know how such stories always go against the facility even when it's not our fault!
As far as emergency lighting we do in fact have all that is required by code...and then some. E-lights are in the halled areas to get all guests to safe exits from any location.
