Our wedding in this area made for a beautiful destination wedding for us and our families.
I had flowers included as a part of my package at Monte Verde Inn and did not have any elaborate floral arrangements at my wedding. But, after hiring an etsy seller to make my bridal bouquet out of fabric flowers took my money and ran I was left with no bridal bouquet a week before my wedding! Louise of Oshay's took care of me with one week notice and made such a beautiful and unique bouquet that was actually above and beyond my design requests. They also made the mothers corsages, the grooms bout, and the flower petals for the flower girls. They were extremely reasonably priced and excellent with communication since I did everything by email and phone living out of the area. I highly recommend them.
Traci was my second makeup artist as I had tried another Sacramento MUA and it didn't work out. Traci knows how to work with brides in helping them create a look that is unique to them on their wedding day. She was able to do an nontraditional bridal look on me and was excited about that. She was open to trying out new looks. We did 3 looks before I found the look I wanted and each time she was patient and receptive to my requests and critiques. On the day of the wedding she showed up and felt like a part of the bridal party as she had such a friendly and relaxed vibe about her that just is infectious. She was a great vendor and I am glad I had a bad experience with one makeup artist that led me to her. She is truly a gem and everyone loved my makeup! She is also very reasonable priced and even gave me as well as my mother in law samples of makeup. Highly recommend her!
Mary Jane was our celebrant/officiant. She had an extremely positive attitude and went to the great lengths to draft the perfect personalized ceremony for us. She is extremely well organized and prepared giving us tons of samples of ceremonies. We designed a diverse ceremony which included a hand fasting, rose ceremony and wine ceremony and our guests couldn't stop talking about how much they enjoyed our ceremony and found it to be very personable. After the wedding Mary Jane made up a formal decorative keepsake copy of our ceremony and sent it to us as a gift. We really can't attest to the chemistry that needs to coexist between you and your vendors as they are either going to make or break your day. You want to make sure that they understand you and your vision and Mary Jane did just that. She was a former Marriage & Family therapist and that definitely is something to her advantage in her job as a celebrant. Our sister in law took care of dealing with this company so I cannot attest to their customer service. What I can attest to is how they did not follow directions and gave us what we ordered for the wedding which was a 30 passenger shuttle. Funny thing is our guests told us that a shuttle did show up and pick them up for the transportation to the venue, however when the company came to pick us up from the venue to go into town for our after party, they sent a limo instead. The entire reason I hired a transportation vendor was so that we would mainly have a shuttle (party bus) to take from the wedding into town. The driver apparently asked one of our guests if it was okay to bring a limo back, and our guest who was not the customer told him okay. I never found out why this happened and why the driver would ask my guest this as my guest wasn't the one paying him. This made for a lot of people being left out of the limo ride since hardly anyone could fit in their limo. I was very disappointed as I didn't get the party bus experience. Also, the limo wasn't even stocked with champagne or ice which I thought was odd since it was for a wedding. I don't recommend them for this huge mix up as it is imperative that your vendor listen to the customer's orders and not guests.
Dj mike was fantastic! He not only created a custom song list for our wedding, he set up music for both the ceremony and reception. He is perfect for weddings and knows all the ins and outs of the wedding bussiness. His price is very resonable and I would hire him again in a heartbeat. Thanks Mike.
Our ceremony was an unforgettable miracle of a ceremony. We had it outdoors and although it had been raining that day I had my heart on having it under the beautiful trees and courtyard at MVI. They made it happen and it was actually 10x better than a normal outdoor ceremony. Our ceremony was something that we hear about still from our guests and was so personal and special as it was held under umbrellas with the beautiful autumnal leaves and lush forest surrounding us.
It was held indoors in candle lit Victorian ambiance. The food was amazing, our guests couldn't stop talking about the food. (How often does that happen at weddings?) Kelli & Co. were always there checking in on us and making sure we were taken care of. We felt like VIP's and that's how you should feel on your day. We can't rave enough about the entire experience as it was all-inclusive including cake, rentals, food, bar, flowers, etc. Our custom cake, the excellent dinner and the entire aesthetic as well as ambiance that MVI had to offer provided the ultimate dream wedding for us.
I cannot attest to their accomadations as only my guests stayed here but I can attest that they offer a room block discount which in the a small percentage of my guests used due to a higher government discount rate. They were easy to work with and communicative.
I hate to give this review as I had such high hopes for this venue. My wedding venue told us early on that The Club Car lets you reserve out their top floor for private parties free of charge so I hopped right on it especially since the choice of bars are limited in this town. We met with the owners 3 months before the wedding and were very clear that we did not want to have a hosted event for our guests that it was non host only since it is tradition for our friends to "take care" of the bride and groom after the wedding. They both kept insisting on promoting their catering menus to us and we told them we'd think about it. Well I guess that's where it all went downhill because when we showed up to the Club Car after our wedding they had never told their staff we were coming!! I was literally in my wedding dress and the staff looked the other way and blamed us for not ever "booking the food" order. I was let's say a little upset because I had all of my guests just standing there confused. They had no tables set up for us and the locals were just having a good ol time at our expense. The staff contacted the owners who took NO responsibility ever for their lack of booking us, which is unbelievable since we even made a trip out to this venue a few months out from the wedding to talk with the owners. I do not recommend them as it seems nothing comes for free and the owners did not respond like professionals and take responsibility but rather blamed us for never confirming a food order. We told them from the very beginning that it was NON Hosted event. Unacceptable and thankfully my friends were there to intercept and help make the most of our "after party".
We had our Rehearsal dinner at the Auburn Alehouse and it was an a extremely pleasant experience. They took care of us and even though they didn't have a indoor private room they made our section of the restaurant feel very private. This little detail will be improved upon in the near future as the manager told us as they are planning on opening up a private room soon. In the end it didn't matter to us as their food, drinks and customer service made up for it lacking. They really made for a memorable experience and I highly recommend them. We don't live near this venue at all but we intend to make our way back to the Aurburn Alehouse annually as they're food/brewery is now our favorite. We came up there twice before the wedding to test and its now a fave for us. Highly recommend.
The only reason I gave this one star was because of the actual property grounds being so beautiful and that is not thanks to Jami's Place, but just nature. The residence where my family actually stayed at, the place that was supposed to be incredibly comfortable and stress free on our wedding weekend was a nightmare.
We arrived to filthy used bed linens, bathrooms that had actual previous renters clothes and used toiletries still around and had not been cleaned. My mother in law had to sleep in a bed that was so sunken in that you could hardly call it a bed, she ended up sleeping on the floor. The master suite is not really that at all as it has 3 twin beds in it and so as the bride and groom we forfeited the room to our brother and sister with a child. The other 2 rooms on the 2nd floor were extremely tiny and awkward, one of which didn't have a door and our cousins had to hang a sheet for privacy. The kitchen stove had not been cleaned in a while, there were still opened food products from previous house guests as well as personal belongings in the cupboards. The laundry room was stacked with towers of sheets and linens from previous guests. The garbage was piled up outside and it had neglected to be taken out so once we left our garbage only added to the growing pile of blight. On the morning of our wedding the area lost full power and water making for a not so fun way to wake up to on the day that was supposed to be stress free. If it had not been for mental and physical exhaustion after the wedding we would have sued this place for our money back. We just had no more energy to spend on this disaster of a vacation rental and said good riddance at the advice of our families.
