Our wedding day was everything that we could have asked for and more. A special thanks to all of our vendors that helped make this day super special. Please read the reviews and use some of our awesome vendors. You won't regret using the good ones!
DJ Nick Nice brought the life to the party and kept it going all night. He played a great play list (clean editions). He also took requests from us and our guests all night. He kept the flow of the night moving with great commentary between different segments. He was the icing on the cake to our awesome night. I would HIGHLY recommend him for your wedding!!!
The Giambelli String Quartet is a masterful group of musicians. They are affordable for people on a wedding budget. They were completely flexible and were happy to take special requests for my ceremony. They provided their repetoire list to choose selections for the ceremony but also played special selections that I requested very well. They were definitely an added feature at my ceremony that got a lot of good buzz.
The cake we received was the best tasting cake ever. They were able to take a picture of a cake that I wanted and recreate it accurately. They were even able to keep the clean lines of a fondant cake using buttercream icing since we don't like fondant. The cake stores well and tastes really good days after the wedding!
Shaun and Alana of Shaun David Photography is one of the best vendors I purchased for my wedding. They stayed with us the entire day. The quality of the photographs were exquisite! They were consummate professionals. They took all my feedback on all of the pictures that I wanted plus suggested some really stunning shots. I would recommend them in a heartbeat to every bride. They showed up early, and stayed late, without any extra fees! They always give the printing rights in all of their photo packages, and we were so excited when we got our photo books that they prepared for us. Shaun and Alana traveled around Pittsburgh with us for our group photos. They are a great price point and the quality is top notch!
The team was great. Everyone expects that it will be the perfect David Tutera moment. Trends to Traditions tried their best to make that happen and if there were any hiccups along the way they did a good job in helping resolve issues. They were always responsive and helpful and really helped me execute the wedding that I wanted.
I went to Shady Side in Middle School and High School and thought of no better place to have my wedding. The campus is gorgeous and well maintained. They were very accommodative to our needs and were able to quickly move our wedding indoors when the forecast called for rain!
I would NOT recommend booking CVCC for your wedding reception. I just had my wedding reception there (Sept 2012) and it was not worth the money I paid. I put my deposit down for a Sept 2012 wedding in May of 2011. Ever since the day I deposited I got nothing but lies and inconsistencies. There were 4 chef changes along with 4 banquet coordinator changes in 2012 alone. I had to go back to Pittsburgh for 3 different tastings. Every time they fired/hired a new banquet coordinator at CVCC I had to re-communicate my reception layout and all of the contracted points that were discussed with the old banquet coordinator. 3 days before my wedding the newest banquet coordinator e-mailed me to ask me about my menu that was agreed upon months ago as well as to tell me that something special that was given to us would not happen. The execution the day of the wedding was terrible. They told me I would have separate bathrooms for my guests and I made toiletry baskets for those bathrooms which were used by the guests of another wedding. I did not see the banquet coordinator once all night (thank God I hired my own wedding coordination team). They mixed up the guests between the 2 weddings and allowed my guests in early when there were instructions to have people wait until the appropriate time. My coordination team was still setting up the room when CVCC allowed guests in almost an hour early! The food was not even close to what I tasted in my last tasting. There were contracted items that never were executed upon. BRIDES...SAVE YOURSELVES THE HASSLE...DO NOT BOOK...
The rooms are really nice. The hotel passed out my Out of Town bags that I prepared to my guests as they checked in.
