Long story short: The wedding was fantastic. No regrets.
The biggest part of our budget went toward the venue/food/drinks (all provided by the incomprable Fraser River Lodge). Everything else, we just didn't do (favours), did on the super-cheap ("personal" floral arrangements, cake) or DIYed (table decorations, iPod reception music).
The reason we had our wedding out in Agassiz was so that all our family from BC and Alberta would be able to camp nearby, cutting down on their costs. Our friends had to travel our from Vancouver, sure, but it was only a two-hour drive.
We'd do it all again in a heartbeat!
Absolutely gogeous arrangements. Very flexible and helpful when it came to selecting arrangements that a) matched our style and b) were AFFORDABLE. All arrangements were done on-time, with no mix-ups, and more magnificent than we could have imagined. She required a bit of follow-up, however.
Angela is stellar. A consumate professional, she blended into the background the whole day... you didn't even know she was there! When she was "staging" photos (a must for the family shots), she made everyone feel comfortable and natural. The photographs are simply top-notch. We would wholeheardedly recommend her to people who have a bit of money to spend on photography - her rates are above-average - and want THE BEST.
Ah, the music... the factor that can "make or break" a reception. We lucked out with these guys! Sweetpea is a hip, fun young band that plays music people of all ages like: Swing and early jazz! EVERYONE was dancing - rave reviews from all who attended. Definitely one of the best parts of the whole evening!
What a fantastic place. We would go there again in a heartbeat. Just a 30-min ferry ride from North Vancouver, and it felt like we were half a world away!
