We had a large wedding of over 250 guests. Everything went well, and we were able to have our wedding economically for that large a group. Having a wedding web site with Wedding Mapper included was really helpful to our guests.
Jimmy was outstanding. He has been in the business for over 25 years. He is very personable and followed through on everything I wanted to do. His music selection and MCing were excellent. Guests were on the dance floor all the way to the last song--over four hours. We had many compliments on our DJ! And, his prices are exceptionally good.
The cake was delicious and looked beautiful, so I almost gave them four stars. However, I was supposed to have a three-tier cake and a matching decorated sheet cake. The sheet cake was not displayed, because the icing on top had been mashed. Neither the bakery nor the reception hall took responsibility. This was highly disappointing. Then, I was charged by the bakery for a covered cardboard cake support that the reception hall mistakenly threw away. Even though the prices on the cakes, decorative elements, and taste were very good, the two problems were very disappointing.
Andree and her family are wonderful to work with. They did a nice job with the flowers for the ceremony and reception. It ended up being a little more expensive than I had planned, because the cost of flowers went up right before the wedding. But, their prices were much lower in the first place. I enjoyed working with them.
Janet is a wonderful artist. Besides paintings, she also makes absolutely beautiful jewelry. She created my wedding necklace and earrings by incorporating jewelry or pieces of jewelry of my mother's, grandmother's, and great-grandmother's. Her prices are very reasonable, and her work is unbelievably beautiful.
Holly is very easy to work with and did a beautiful job with my photos. She and her assistant tried very hard to get all the photos I requested. I'm now going through the proofs, which are great. I've seen her finished work, and I'm anxious to receive my albums. Her prices are very reasonable.
We held our rehearsal dinner at the Milano Inn, and it went great. The food was wonderful, and the private atmosphere was perfect. We rented their projector and screen for a fun presentation.
Danielle did my wedding makeup, and I couldn't have been happier. I had gone for a trial run, so I knew what I wanted. She also gave me a touch-up kit to be used throughout my wedding day.
The advantage to using this venue is the inclusive package--they provide food, beverages, cake cutting, some decorations, set-up, and tear-down. The manager is personable, helpful, and patient with questions. The glitch we had was one of the cakes not being displayed because of icing being mashed. Was it the bakery or the reception hall fault? We'll never know. Also, when I went to pick up my decorations a couple of days later, they were in disarray and some were missing. Most showed up after a search, but I was disappointed, because I had left a detailed list of what I brought. All in all, the reception hall looked beautiful, the food was great (lots of compliments), the bar service was good, and guests had no idea there were any problems.
