The title pretty much sums it up. While everything went smoothly the day of the wedding I found the lack of communication to be disheartening. Emails or requests to meet should not -- in my opinion -- be met with silence regardless of how many years of experience they have in the business or how far out in the planning process something is. That said, the music was great, there were no hiccups, and our DJ was very nice.
Kristina was wonderful to work with and was very flexible considering that my wedding was planned from across the country. All of our flowers were beautiful and she worked with us to keep costs down. Moreover, she did a wonderful job of coming up with alternatives and explaining all the costs. My only disappointments were on the actual day of. The arch decorations were far from what we had envisioned (although the arch flowers were perfect) and my bouquet wrap was quite wet. However, all of our flowers were exactly how I had envisioned and we were overall very happy.
We couldn't have asked for better service -- they assigned one individual to us for the entire day and we were never without water, champagne, or whatever else we needed. Our server (although he was much more than than) even climbed over rocks to make sure we had water when we were taking pictures! In addition, I've never heard so many people rave about a wedding buffet -- and the buffet bacon was actually good! The only thing that wasn't perfect is that we found it difficult to work on ways to get costs down, but ultimately we were able to come up with a menu that was delicious and perfectly executed by the Greens Point staff.
We did not want a traditional wedding cake and decided to have a croquembouche instead. While we definitely ordered too much (if anybody is considering this option and will not have the dessert directly served to the guests, I'd recommend 1.5 per person unless your guests have a serious sweet tooth), the profiteroles were absolutely amazing. Shamane was wonderful to work with and went out of her way to set up a tasting for the profiteroles
Rachael was absolutely amazing and I can't say enough positive things about her. My hair got rave reviews, but more than anything she was the perfect person to have around the morning of and has been wonderful even after the wedding. The airbrush makeup was great and stayed put ALL DAY (literally, from 5:30am to almost 2am).
We planned our wedding from out of state -- 2000 miles away to be precise -- and everything went smoothly thanks to the staff at Lionscrest. They were among the most professional event staff I have encountered, their website makes everything easy to manage from a distance, and the venue itself is gorgeous.
Our rate block was at the Outlook and they were wonderful to work with. Everything went smoothly, our guests received their welcome bags, and everyone had a great time.
