Our Panama City Beach Wedding was great. We had a great weekend with our friends and family. The rehearsal dinner was at BackPorch in Pier Park. On our wedding day there was not much to do other than get ready; everything was taken care of for us by Boatyard for the reception. We could not have had a better reception anywhere on the beach. We spent the day after our wedding on the beach spending time with our guests before leaving for our Honeymoon to Jamacia on Monday morning.
I would not use them EVER!! They did not take a single picture of me and my bridesmaids, then they photoshopped me into one when I said something and did not admit to the error. I had permission for someone to shoot 2nd and they stopped them without me knowing, they did not take the time to space people or fix my dress. They were rushing us and rude and cut our heads out of all the picutures where we exchanged rings. The few pictures we got that were cute were ones we told them to do. Then we had a hard time getting the Copyright to the pictures which was in our contract. DO not go by the pictures on the website the actual work is nowhere near as good. This was the only thing that was stressful about my wedding and was one of the most important. I wish we had never used them.
Although the hotel is not the newest on teh beach they were very accomodating to our wedding guests. The pool is the main attraction to this hotel with the cave and waterfall. The staff was also very accomodating to giving advise on where and how to set up on the beach. They also gave a competitive rate on the block of rooms.
Boatyard is an excellent choice for your reception in Panama City. I don’t think you will find anywhere on the beach that can offer you the scenery and excellent food for the price. I am not sure who Konrad is or who you have spoken to at the Boatyard. Mike Rodriguez and Eddie are the two managers of Boatyard and are by far the most professional and knowledgeable of anyone we spoke to on the beach about wedding receptions. We talked to almost every hotel and several caterers who specialized in weddings and Boatyard was friendlier than anyone. They handled everything from set up to break down the night of the reception. With that said we did not use any decorations other than linens on some of the tables, I liked the modern look of the blue glasses and the seaside feel they had to offer. We met with Mike told them how many guests there would be and they set up the tables food and even boxed up the extra food and wedding cake for our guests to take with them. We reserved the entire top floor for the reception and Mike referred us to a DJ (Vladi) who was also great. If you are considering using Boatyard call Mike or Eddie and they will sit down with you and figure out your budget and help you with planning your menu, drinks, and set up. We live out of town and they have even made our wedding night food for us twice since our wedding while we were in town. I suggest the Egg Phoo Chicken and Gooda Grits. It may sound strange but try it, it is amazing and all of our guests loved it. Good luck and Congratulations.
