Annapolis is an amazing place to get married! It is perfect for pictures and is a beautiful place :)
I loved downtown and the Naval Academy~ September was a perfect time of the year weather wise , and also the flights really dropped in price for our guests since it was in between holiday seasons.
The town is small and therefore all the vendors are pricey and are used to wedding business. You really have to search to get affordable vendors, and don't forget vendors from Baltimore will travel to Annapolis often no problem! I would advise to use professional hair stylists that come directly to your hotel that way there is no stress on you.
I loved being able to map out everything on wedding mapper for my guests! I would email it to them and posted the link on my other wedding website.
Very yummy selections. Prices are average. We got a 3 layer 2 flavored buttercream cake with a pattern down one side and ribbon around each layer and it ran about $400.
They offer a anniversary cake for free which is awesome!
Great Company! Affordable and very nice to work with. They reviewed our pictures list and day of agenda several times with us to make sure it was perfect. Only complaint is that pictures were lacking creativity in the end product.
I LOVE THEM.
The girls are friendly, affordable and organized. They specialize in wedding styles and makeup and make you feel and look fabulous. They understand how important timelines are and they completely take care of you day of! I would highly recommend them.
Absolute doll to work with. She really works with your budget and wants to please the bride. I was a little dissapointed with the size of the table arangements and thought they would have more pizzazz having seen all her other work, however I think my budget and how much I wanted really made her have to cut back in spots where she normally wouldn't have. She was on time and very organized. She even threw in little freebies where she could. I would highly recommend her.
The Naval Academy Chapel was amazing.. the ceremony was my favorite part of our day!! No frills needed, just the beauty of the church. Claire the church/wedding service coordinator was absolutely the best to work with! She coordinated the rehearsal and day of so that I truely didn't have to worry about any of it. She was a joy to work with the whole process. I'm very thankful for her.
I did have the last ceremony of the day which was the best! They often book weddings back to back and if you get the last one then you don't have to worry about another wedding starting before or after you.
The officers club is the picture perfect setting for a Naval Academy Reception. It is very regal looking inside and the Midway and Coral Sea rooms combined offer a wonderful layout for a wedding reception. The catering staff was AMAZING! They made sure my groom and I ate and they set up and cleaned up. It was so easy for my guests to walk from the chapel to the reception venue. Maggie was great , she really made efforts to ensure that we got the menu that worked best for us and coordinated everything with me from the start. I'm very thankful I had her to work with. Her supervisor Barbara is not as great to work with, in fact she was short at times and I felt like she really didn't want to host a wedding at the facility. I would advise just to ask to speak with Maggie and go around Barb.
The reason I didn't give it 5 stars:I have a few complaints... the air broke during our reception, and we were all sweating and very hot! Also, I had noted that I wanted my favorite beer at the bar and it wasn't there.. in fact they put no high end beer at the bar and that was supposed to be what we paid for. The catering is a little pricey and you have to really negotiate to get what you want, and I feel like you shouldn't have to beg them to do what YOU want on YOUR wedding day especially if you're paying them.
Overall I would recommend the USNA Officer Club for a wedding reception venue. It was a beautiful and classy setting and the food was delicious!!
The Navy lodge is an affordable choice for guests. It was clean and the beds are large. There is also a little kitchen area in each should you want to save money and cook. My guests really loved the breakfast bags that they provide. They would pick them up and bring them on the go when they were rushing to get to one of our wedding events! :)
I would advise to put the extension for the front desk with the Lodge phone number for your guests as the voice recording on the main number they give you for your guests to call regarding a room block re-directs to the corporate number. They told a few of my guests that they had no record of our wedding block when all they had to do is transfer them back to the Annapolis Lodge Front Desk. That caused some confusion.
The location is nice right across the bay and over the bridge, but it is easy for out of towners to get confused at night since it is set back in a wooded area.
Warning: the cell phone service is TERRIBLE at the Navy Lodge. Outgoing calls were all static and incoming calls often went straight to our guests voicemails.
Buddy's Crabs & Ribs was delicious!
The buffet was huge and my family and friends loved it.
The banquet room was large and has a view of the bay.
They have a small flat screen in the room that we used for a picture slide show that worked out wonderful.
Parking can be a pain since it's right downtown and on the harbor, but if your guests carpool then it works out great.
One thing to note is that there are large stairs to walk up to get to the main dining area, so if you're elderly this may be difficult. I didn't notice an elevator but there may be one.
The perfect setting for a fun reharsal dinner for sure! 5 stars!
The Hampton Inn & Suites Annapolis was awesome. The staff that helps to coordinate room blocks were very accomodating and even extended our room block with no hassle.
Our guests loved the lobby area which was big and open and the breakfast bar they serve was great and fully stocked!
They have a pool, but since it was September it was closed.
The suites are very nice and the rooms are clean and comfy.
The cost was more than the lodge but the ammenities were also more and it was well worth it.
