Planning a wedding from Boston in St. John USVI, along with searching for the perfect photographer was the hardest task of all of them. But everything turned out beautifully.
We were married in a small Catholic church in St. John, USVI. It was just the two of us along with my sister and brother in law. The weather was glorious. The ceremony was spiritual and filled with a lot of love and laughter. We had post wedding pictures taken along Caneel Bay followed by a sunset dinner cruise along the British Virgin Islands...happiest day of our lives.
We had done a tremendous amount of research and found the gem of all stones with Alain Brinn and Bluegrass Photography.
His website is what initially blew us away. Coming from a family of 9, I (bride) had had my share of experience with wedding photographers. Bluegrass Photography's website was too good to be true. I contacted several brides who had worked with Alain and knew right away that his services were the one we wanted and needed. I was very nervous at the church waiting for Alain to arrive. He was better than on time and the fears and nerves were gone when I saw him. He not only greeted me like family but treated my husband, wedding party and myself like we had known each other for a very long time. When I received the pictures (less than 3 weeks post wedding), our jaws dropped. The brilliance and talent Alain provided with our pictures was amazing. He captured not only our happiness but every intimate detail of all we had envisioned for months surrounding the ceremony and post wedding pictures. I thank Alain and would only recommend his services out of all those we researched. Our experience with him was worth every second of worry. He is truly the best.
We were married in the Caribbean in the spring with a planned post wedding reception in the form of a catered clambake for friends and family in York Beach in August.
Having no experience looking for a wedding cake vendor, I went online and found Kara and the Black Bunny Bakery. The website is what initially sold us. The array of cakes, their design and deions were mouth watering. Our initial visit with Kara was much more than just professional. Her inspiring creative mind along with the detail taken to design our cake and the time spent to meet our needs was to say the least, impresive. We had a beach themed porcelain wedding cake topper. Kara took that and designed a wedding cake that was to die for.
It was then that we knew we had found a gem and there was no need to go elsewhere in our search.
Our guests raved about not only the beautiful design, detail and look of the cake (it was too perfect to cut) but the amazing flavor and freshness of it. I would highly recommend working with Kara and would never go anywhere else.
We had our wedding ceremony in St. John USVI in May. We wanted to plan a post wedding reception a couple of months after we got back. We knew right away, when planning this party last fall, that Foster's was THE place. York Harbor, ME was near where we both grew up/summered with our families. We met with Beth Wilson last fall to discuss our initial plans. What a gem she was. Over the course of the 9 month planning period, she treated us like family and had every idea layed out for us. She knew what she was doing.
Our party was amazing. Everyone loved the casual attire and summer island celebration theme. We had everything planned in terms of using a beach theme while also incorporating island specialty drinks, an In Memory table, light house and seashell hurricane lamps as table centerpieces, etc., etc. Beth and her team made our day easy, comfortable and nothing less than fun.
Thank you Beth Wilson and the entire Foster's Downeast Clambake team. You made our dreams come true !!
Having to plan for wedding flowers over the internet can be a little stressful. However, Susan's talent in providing not only what you have asked for but the intimate details of her own prowess simply blew me away when she arrived at the church with my and my maid of honor's bouquets. In addition, she stayed with me for quite some time calming my nerves and easing my last minute concerns about this or that. She is truly worth every penny spent (which was very reasonable) and I would not only highly recommend her but use her services again. Thank you Susan.
I had a dress in mind for our Caribbean wedding. Although we were getting married in the Catholic church, I wanted something simple and elegant yet comfortable. I did not think those 3 attributes were possible. I also needed to keep in mind the heat in May.
After searching in a couple of dress shops with inexperienced help, I went online to J Crew and found THE dress. I called the Chestnut Hill, MA store and they had the dress in stock but not in my size. I met with the wedding consultant (she was fantastic and treated me like family), tried on the dress (only 1) and knew right away it was the one. She ordered it for me in the size I needed and also followed up with a lovely note after my wedding. I would not have gone anywhere else. I even wore the dress to our post wedding reception a couple of months after our ceremony.
Thank you J Crew for making me feel like a million bucks.
