We routinely reminense about how fun our wedding was. Things won't always go according to plan, but having good help and not freaking out are very important to keeping the day in perspective. After all, it is a day to celebrate your love, not to get every detail perfect because SOME thing will veer from your plan. Although a majority of our guest list was not from San Diego, everyone loved visiting San Diego (who wouldn't?!) and made a mini vacation out of it. Surprisingly, the weather for our Sep 6 wedding was very hot; everyone was sweating in the sun at the ceremony. Lastly, our guests loved the Wedding Mapper!
She is FANTASTIC and I would get married again just to have more of her cake. You must go see her hole in the wall shop...try to go earlier than later, because she can get booked up, as there are only so many weekends in a month.
4 stars for the sheer beauty of the location. Needing parking passes to get on base was a bit of a hassle but we had an usher stand in front with an extra stack to make sure everyone could get in. The naval base coordinator also failed to submit the vendors list to the right security people, and there was a 1 hr delay to get them started. They also didn't tell me that the bridal room was my responsibility to book for the wedding day, so I ended up having to keep the limo longer which worked out fine in the end, but was an inconvenience when I found out and had to deal with it during the rehearsal.
Excellent venue. Stephanie was a dream to work with and everyone was very accommodating. We had a slight smell in the ballroom bathrooms though, but I didnt find that out until I went in there towards the end of the night...make sure they dont have that problem anymore when you talk with them. I requested that all guests had a bay/ocean view room and I was rewarded with countless comments from guests that they absolutely loved it.
