As most brides say (and should) our wedding was everything we wanted it to be! And it wouldn't have been possible without the venues/vendors we used! The hotel allowed us to visit with long-distance friends and family before and after the wedding day and was conveniently located to many stores and a mall for day-of emergencies. Wickham Park is extremely gorgeous (5 minutes from the Hampton Inn!) and definitely worth the money for convenience and cost saving on decorations. And WeddingMapper was awesome to use as our website. Not only was it a cool, easy to use layout, but it allowed us to provide all the necessary information to our guests, including our registries!
Pros: Could customize any package (we did, got what we wanted, and a cheaper deal!)
Cons: some slight equipment malfunctions (a song would cut off). Not sure if it was the DJ or the equipment. It stunk a little, but no one really noticed.
Price was amazing! Almost too good to be true, but they truly went above and beyond! Price included centerpieces (any color roses you want - we got salmon), wedding cake (go to Modern Pastry!!), linens, china/silverware/etc., top shelf open bar for 5 hours, and yummy food! The servers were amazing. The bartender was calming me down before the ceremony began. Then she greeted us at the end of the aisle, getting our drink orders! The servers came around to us during cocktail hour while we were getting pictures done so our wedding party didn't starve, and I got to eat the hors d'ouvres I paid for! Sal, the manager, although he was late for 2 of our appointments (my only complaint), definitely made up for it and we definitely felt like we were taken care of well. For example, we had a horrible time with one baker (which they're contracted with), so I called him up and he simply sent us to another baker who easily met our needs. But ALL of my guests commented about how good the food was, and that's hard when you're trying to accommodate a lot of different tastes, including vegetarians (like my groom is).
If I could give him 10 stars, I would! Just go to his website, and you'll immediately fall in love with his work! His prices are extremely reasonable (esp. for 10 hours of photography and 2 photogs!). He is extremely easy to get along with, definitely something that is important if you're going to be spending at least 10 hours with him! His second photographer, Lesley, and lighting assistant were also wonderful and easy going. They were all like ninjas, being careful not to get in the way, but still getting the shots we needed and wanted. They were amazing and I would recommend Seth to anybody!
Wonderful! They are family-run, and they run very well. They met all of our needs and even had a picture of a cake they made that was exactly what I wanted! And their flavors and filling combinations were amazing! We had the raspberry ricotta. To. Die. For. They did a wonderful job and people complimented that our cake almost looked fake because it looked so perfect.
Wickham Park, Manchester, CT
A little pricy to book, but totally worth it for the scenery and convenience of having the ceremony and reception all in one, beautiful location.
Only con was that it had rained all week and there were some unexpected mosquitoes having dinner while our guests were!
In a convenient location, right next to restaurants (where we had an impromptu after-party), JoAnn's (which we used for a last minute flower snafu), Party City, Buckland Hills Mall, and Men's Wearhouse (the guys were able to easily drop off their tuxes before they left!).
Hotel is extremely clean, from the rooms to the pool. The bridal suite was large enough for me and my 5 bridesmaids to stay the night before. The hotel smartly put my groom and I on opposite sides of the hotel (same floor) so we wouldn't cross paths that day.
Complimentary breakfast allowed us to save money on a Sunday brunch, but still see everyone the next morning!
There's also a portico in the front entrance just in case it rains, so you can get in and out of your vehicle without getting rained on!
