Terrible experience with TPC Summerlin. Don't know where to begin explaining how bad everything was. #1 When the Bridal Party and Videographers arrived for the photo shoot on the lawn it was 103 deg. They asked a member of the TPC staff for some water. They were told they had to wait until they went inside to the Reception to get water and were not served any cold water for the hour they were outside taking pictures. #2. I hired a pianist to play background music during the Cocktail Reception on the Baby Grand Piano that flanks the entrance to the TPC CC. When we arrived, we found that TPC removed the Baby Grand and that the pianist was using an electronic keyboard instead of the Baby Grand that I contracted for. #3.The table settings had no bread plates or butter knives for each individual. They literally forgot to set these items for a formal sit down dinner. #4.Food was mediocre compared to the food tasting we experienced a few months earlier. At the food tasting we were served generous portions. At the wedding they served skimpy portions, bland looking and very poor presentation. #5. The sound system was not working properly and the people sitting towards the back of the room could not hear any announcements or music. When brought to the attention of the DJ he said it wasn't his equipment, but rather the sound system within the TPC. None of the wait staff or Wedding Coordinator turned the sound system on until we brought it to their attention after our guests told us about it. #6. We brought 2 bottles of Champagne that were etched in Swarvosky Crystals that read Bride/Groom for display and picture purposes. The wait staff took it upon themselves to open a bottle and serve it to the head table without realizing it should NOT have been opened. Rather than using TPC Champagne that we ordered and paid for, they opened one of ours. The bride & groom wanted to open these bottles after their honeymoon. # 7. When it was time to cut the cake, the sound system in the back of the room was still malfunctioning despite our notifying the Wedding Coordinator. The DJ tried to up the sound from his own mike, but unfortunately many of the guests missed the Cake cutting ceremony because they didn't hear the announcement. #8. The Wedding Coordinator left before the end of the evening. We had no idea who to turn to when more "issues" came up. Based on our experience with TPC Summerlin, we would not recommend this venue. It was a complete disappointment despite our constant requests before the date of the wedding to make sure this wedding would be the best! Also, after sending these complaints to the General Manager and a cc: to the Wedding Coordinator in an e-mail shortly after the wedding, neither of them ever sent a response or an apology.
Many of our Out of Town guests stayed here. Great Property! Highly recommend this hotel.

Some out of town guests stayed at this resort on Las Vegas Blvd, approx. 3 miles south of the Mandalay Bay. Beautiful resort, great amenities, luxury condo with 2 bed/2 baths. Great pool!
We had the rehearsal dinner at this restaurant in the Private Dining Room. The food and service were excellent, however we were very disappointed with where they put us for the Cocktail Hour. We were originally planning to have the Cocktail Hour outdoors on the patio, but it was 103 deg and too hot to be outdoors, so we met with the Coordinator earlier in the day to discuss where we could have the Cocktail party (@28 people). I requested a spot in the Main Dining Room towards the left side of the restaurant when you walk in but was told that they had to leave the Dining Room open for their Dinner Guests. The Coordinator suggested right outside the restaurant in the Main Corridor that links the JWMarriott Hotel to the restaurant. She assured us that there would be "MINIMAL" traffic and she'd rope it off so that anyone walking by would know this was a PRIVATE FUNCTION. When our guests arrived we were escorted to the outside corridor and it wasn't roped off or blocked off for the public. It was a rather busy weekend for the JWMarriott and many of the Hotel guests thought that Spiedini's was offering FREE Cocktails and Appetizers so they crashed our "private party" and started helping themselves. I quickly notified one of the wait staff and he ran in and got a partition to block of our private party. Also, the menus printed for the Rehearsal Dinner had the incorrect date for our son & his future wife. Instead of printing June 1, 2012, they printed May 16, 2012. A small, but annoying mistake. I do recommend this restaurant for it's outstanding food and inside ambiance. If they try to tell you to have your private party in the corridor please tell them no! BTW- the Main Dining Room was not busy and we could easily have been in the area where I originally suggested.
