Beautiful weather in a fantastic place. It was quite an experience to get married on the National Mall and take pictures in front of the museums and monuments. Top of the Town was a great place for the reception - the view of DC made the day for our guests. Most guests said it was one of the best weddings they'd been to (but I think everyone says that to the bride and groom weddings)...
Great food, competitive price. Lacking a bit on personal attention - there were some turnover issues around the time of our wedding and they just got too busy to be able to handle the way I've heard they typically do.
Great folks to work with, on top of the game. We had a very tight window to get guests to the DC War Memorial and back to Rosslyn and they executed great. This could have turned into a disaster if they were even a little late. The driver for the limo bus was great as well - very personable and accomodating. The rates were also very good. I wouldn't hesitate to use these guys again.
Couldn't have been better. Didn't 'steal' the show, was involved just enough to get things communicated to the guests. John stuck to the playlist and tailored the songs to the flow of the night perfectly. Again, got a lot of comments from the guests about how much fun they had dancing, about how the dance floor was always full... Oh, and he also did the video! John's wife did the taping and we had the video in our hands 4 weeks after the wedding day - amazing.
The venue was great and it was much easier than expected to get the permits lined up. The downside is that there is only a 2 hour window that is availalbe for all of the setup, the ceremony and breakdown. The other issue is transportation - we rented buses from Chariots for Hire to shuttle people from the hotels in Rosslyn to the memorial because parking is an issue.
Great folks to work with. ToT was very accomodating and provided a great service, going above and beyond. The space was a bit tight for ~150 people, though, and we would have preferred a larger dance floor. The tradeoff, though, for the view is one we would make again - the guests all loved it.
Very disappointed - not at all accomodating. They were selling rooms on the internet for a cheaper rate than our wedding block rate. Also, since 90% of our guests were from out of town, we had bags with instructions, snacks, etc. to hand out to the guests. The Hyatt tried to charge us a fee per bag to hand them to our guests as they checked in. The management at this hotel has influenced me to make Hyatt the absolute last choice whenever I have options in the future.
Friendly, great to work with. The rooms are big and the rate was great. All of the out of town guests loved the kitchenette - so convenient to Top of the Town as well.
