We loved virtually every second of our wedding. Most, if not all, of our vendors came through with flying colors and i would go with nearly every one of them again.
can't say enough good things about Pedestals and our consultant, Nadia. the flowers all came out beautiful, she was an absolute pleasure to work with, and they are very amenable to virtually any budget. far and away my favorite vendor that i worked with.
this is a tentative review as i haven't gotten my proofs back. although a bit pricey, i really fell in love with the sample pictures that they showed us. we had 2 photographers, an assistant and a videographer on our day and they were all quite nice and very professional. the 2nd photographer (who focused mostly on "journalistic" style stuff) and the videographer were surprising unobtrusive throughout the day. i barely noticed they were there most of the time. hopefully that means they're good at their job and it doesn't translate into a lack of shots and/or footage. dana, our main photographer, was wonderful. he really knew how to talk to people and get them to look natural. he was great with the little kids (aged 7, 5, and 3) and, i think, got some really good stuff out of them.
we booked a jazz trio for our cocktail hour through Soul Revival. Justin, the owner, gave me a great deal. When they actually showed up there were 4 of them - at the same price! they were really wonderful. we had emailed a few italian standards that we wanted played to Justin and asked if they could do a little jazzy take on them. it came out GREAT. we really enjoyed the mood it set.
such a beautiful church! father nestor was excellent. even through a little snafu (the church had the wedding scheduled for 3:00 somehow i got it into my head it was 3:30, they were fine pushing it back) they were extremely amenable.
had a great time at Jericho! the food was excellent and VERY plentiful. the hall is beautiful (we were in the Dome Room). Sal, our maitre'd, was really attentive and into making sure everything was right for us. the only issue i had was that the candles i had brought to be used on all the tables were never put out. BUT, i didn't even realize it until about 5 hours into the party. we even had a walk-through of the room before people were brought in. but i would still DEFINITELY recommend, just make sure you pay attention to all the details that night.
unfortunately it was pouring rain by the time we got to old westbury gardens, so we could only take pictures in the mansion. it was very nice, but there's really only 2 rooms that you can use so it wasn't quite as diverse a setting as i would have liked. but it did look like the grounds are beautiful, even in late October.
The women at Salon Osio were wonderful. all of our hair came out great. they all seemed genuinely excited and happy about the wedding. i even got a little gift bag as i left!
