Our wedding was everything I imagined and more. St. Paul United Methodist Church is a beautiful place to get married. The Rankin Gardens and Atrium provided an intimate setting for our reception. Mid to late September is a good time to get married. The weather is getting a little cooler during the day and the nights are cool and comfortable. Justin and I would not change anything about our wedding day (except to make it last a little longer). The day goes by so quickly, but in the end all that matters is that we are married.
The DJ did everything that we asked. He will wear a tux or suit, whichever you prefer. He is very friendly and responds in a timely manner. He was great with our guests as well. I would recommend him to anyone.
This vendor does not have a website or email address. Their telephone number is (334) 448-4557. They were very easy to work with. The food was excellent. The service was beyond amazing. All of our guests loved the food. Call Teri at Girlfriends.
This vendor does not have a website and I have misplaced the email. The floral shop is amazing. I know the employees personally and would not use anyone else. Ralph, the floral shop manager, made the arrangements for the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception. They were gorgeous. I told him the colors that I wanted to incorporate and the type of flowers that I wanted and he did the rest. He showed me things that he could put with the flowers to really make it "pop". He was very easy to work with and very friendly. He ordered vases and bowls to match what I wanted. He made sure everything was set up on time. Lewis Jones Floral shop is the best around. Call 706-327-7549.
Our cakes were beautiful and delicious. Both cakes were made by Tara at Lewis Jones. She is their speciality pastry chef. She did a magnificent job. I do not like fondant, so she used buttercream both cakes and they still looked seamless. Not only did they look good, they tasted good. Call Tara at 706-327-7549.
The church is beautiful. You have a choice of using the sanctuary or the chapel. They both have their positives. The chapel is best for small weddings, but the sanctuary would work too. The stained class windows let in the perfect amount of lighting. The alter provides the perfect set up for the bride and groom and wedding party. There is plenty of room for the bridal party and grooms party to get ready without feeling cramped. The only reason I gave this venue 4 stars is because of the price for nonmembers to use the church. It is high.
Venue provides a great setting for an intimate gathering. There is enough room to have a large reception here. The gardens and atrium make a good backdrop for pictures. The staff is easy to work with and will accomodate your wants and needs. The only downside to this venue is that the atrium is not completely enclosed, so if the weather takes a turn for the worse (which it did on my wedding day), the wind whips through the building and rain is blown in as well. I was told that this would not be an issue, but it turned out to be. Otherwise, it is a great location.
