Have went to Salem since I was a child. Love the church. Best place in town to get married. It will cost you a little more if you are not a church member, but would be worth it. Beautiful church.
Could not have been happier with the staff at the Elks. We had the maximum number of seats to set up with all kinds of decorations. They did a great job getting the tables where they needed to be and the service was very good. Food was just what we ordered and overall, the night went very smooth.
The bridal room is why we chose this hotel, but the deal we worked out with the hotel and what we got were two different deals. We signed a contract stating that if we booked 40 room nights(manager originally stated 30 nights) that our room would be free($395 value). The manager stated that our room would be prorated on the # of rooms that we ended up getting booked for our guests. After reviewing the contract, that was not stated in the contract. We ended up getting 19 of the 40 reserved, which to me meant that our room should be somewhere around half price. We were charged $345($50 off). The manager was called that Sunday morning. She would not speak to me. She said we did not meet our contracted amount but she would give us $50 off. That to me is a bunch of crap! If you use this facility, please read your contract over very well. I was not please with the way we were treated. The manager knew I was right and that they screwed us on the verbal agreement, thats why she wouldn't talk to me on the phone that morning. Be cautious. It is a beautiful hotel facility, though.
