As a reception venue the Putney Inn was also perfect. The Putney Inn serves gourmet fare made with local products. From their blueberry pancakes made with locally grown fresh blueberries to their New England Seared Cod - the food will impress your guests as it did mine. Randi, the innkeeper, was excellent at helping us tailor the event to our preferences and our budget. She has been in the business for over 20 years. Randi and her staff made sure our event ran super smoothly. Also, they have worked closely with all of the other vendors for years. The Putney Inn is also a cozy place for guests with a full-breakfast included in the price of the room. Some of our guests came on Friday and stayed until Saturday - making a weekend out of the event. We had the rehearsal dinner at the Putney Inn as well. People enjoyed not having to spend half of the weekend in the car trying to find the next venue.

This was the perfect place to plan an outdoor wedding that allows for an indoor "Plan B" that won't cost you anything extra. The Putney Inn had a beautiful meadow behind it that is surrounded by trees. It is an intimate setting. We had originally planned to have it there, but our plan for rain was to have it on their porch. It did rain and we had the ceremony on the porch, which was even more intimate and just as beautiful if not more than if we had had it outside. Almost all 70 of our guests fit on the porch. They have a PA system that you can rent for $150, which I highly recommend. It stinks for guests to come all the way for your wedding and not even get to hear your vows. Randi, the Innkeeper, did a fabulous job of coordinating the ceremony and finally making the executive decision to have it on the porch once it was clear that it would be too wet in the field. You can also rent chairs from the Putney Inn for the ceremony for about $3 each.

Hotels/Accommodations

I was surprised- I thought the rooms would be much nicer. They have taken a chain hotel and done their best to personalize it. The food is great and walking distance to a local Co-op.
