I, the bride, was looking for a venue with a view. I initally toured the InterContinental on the Plaza, however, after multiple emails to the Events Manager, I felt like I was working harder to offer my business to them rather than them working for my business. I stumbled into the Events team for the Crowne Plaza, Kansas City Downtown at a bridal show and eventually selected their Starlight Ballroom for the incredible view of the sunset to the west and the downtown skyline to the east.
They rolled out the red carpet for us upon our initial tour, and we were treated like their best customer from that point on. They created a custom menu for us based on family recipes used for traditional family celebrations. They worked with my mom to perfect the authenticity and taste. Never did we expect the portion sizes to be so generous at the reception. The food was in abundance and our guests raved about how delicious it was. Our package included a room, prior to the ceremony, to prepare for the day. Upon arrival that morning through the following morning, we were attended to by a number of the staff, from the front desk to the bell service, from the Event Manager to the Event staff. We loved Libby Huff (Crowne Meetings Director) and Andrew (Event Staff Lead) for their attentiveness and care to ensure they provided us with the best experience that they possibly could offer and memories that we could possibly have.
