Just had our reception in June and couldnt be happier with the Jack London Lodge. My family and friends all stayed at the lodge for the enitre weekend. It was great that everyone was able to spend time together before and after the wedding. The staff was at the hotel was accomodating and helpful. the rooms are pretty and very spacious which made getting dressed for the wedding easy.
Elaine, the wedding coordinater help make everything run smoothly and most importantly we were able to relax and enjoy our wedding. We couldnt have done it with out her. The food was delisious and Elaine made sure my husband and I had time to eat which all my friends said would never happen. Over all it was a great wedding weekend.
Everyone who attended the wedding stayed here. There were a few problems. During the period when peopel were making their reservations, we received several somewhat confused calls from the management about rooms. The fact that many people were registering with the same last name (i.e., members of the same family) seemed to confuse the management somewhat. Also, when we all arrived, guests who reserved a room with two beds because they were traveling with their children ended up with a room with only one bed - and the hotel was booked. It took so long to work that out that the family involved missed the rehearsal dinner. BUT, the rooms were fine and the hotel was reasonable for the area. I was told that the hot tub, which is along the river, is lovely.
We were looking for a very relaxed place to go with the late-night revelers after the reception. Thy do not serve food, but let us bring in platters of food from the Glen Ellen Market. They have a fine juke box and the locals are very warm and friendly. Plenty of room. Great spot.
I absolutely loved the actual lodge and grounds but the service is subpar. The wedding coordinator (the owner's sister) was extremely unhelpful and instead of walking me through the process of a wedding, kept telling me what she couldn't do for me instead of what she should have been doing all along.
