The English Rose– European Style Flower Shoppe was founded in 2007 by Sandra McCuin. Sandra started her floral career in her native England at the age of 14 where she started her first business selling dried flowers at the local markets. From there she moved on to working and training with a Master Florist in Ormskirk U.K. where she quickly learned the trade from her mentors. Sandra proceeded to study International Business at Liverpool John Moores University, where she studied for 1 year in Hiroshima Japan. While in Japan, Sandra was able to study Ikebana, the art of Japanese Flower Arranging. After leaving school, Sandra moved to the United States with her Husband Sean and started working and training with master florists in the San Diego California area as well as Yuma Arizona. Sean and Sandra then moved to Lower Wisconsin, where Sandra worked at various florists and was a member of WUMFA, the Wisconsin and Upper Michigan Floral Association, where she was able to train with world class designers such as Kevin Ylvisaker, Rene Van Rems and Hitomi Gilliam. Upon moving to the Crystal Coast, Sandra worked for different employers in the local area and when the time was right, opened her own shop. The need for quality, creativity and customer satisfaction in the Crystal Coast put the wheels in motion and have made the English Rose—European Style Flower Shoppe the success it is today.
