As the day got closer, we found out that our “reasonably priced” block at the SpringHill got filled up and we needed another option. We were able to get rooms here for $125 at the last minute. They were VERY accommodating. The only drawbacks were that we had to guarantee to fill 80% of the rooms, and there was a $3 fee to deliver welcome bags. But, they have a complimentary wine reception from 5-6PM every night, so our guests could enjoy that before the shuttle came for them.
There are not words to describe how wonderful the Hotel Allegro was for our wedding reception. The hotel is beautiful, glamorous and intimiate all at the same time. We got a million compliments on the ornate ballroom and the beautiful silver plated chandeliers. After dinner, they pulled the shades back to reveal the cityscape and the el...it was very Chicago and felt like the quintessential city wedding. The food was absolutely amazing. The steak was delicious, and we've had many people ask us about the number of appetizers per person since there was plenty to go around! Kerry, the wedding coordinator, was a pleasure to work with and came to my rescue a few times when I almost got too stressed on the wedding day! The catering manager made me feel like a princess. Overall, this was the best decision we made for our wedding.
The staff, decor, and organization of this boutique hotel are just as polished as they advertise. I wouldn't have settled for anything less, and I am grateful to have shared such a spectacular venue with my friends and family on my wedding day. From the food, to the settings, to the sequence of our day, every detail was beyond perfect.
