Description

The newly restored and renovated Option House Restaurant features two restaurants for fine dining. The first floor Trading Room Lounge has a very rustic, European, pub-like atmosphere. A 62-ft long Flemish-style oak bar built by the Brunswick Co was installed in 1935 with six carved divisions representing chateau entrances lighted with old English lanterns.

In 1937 the upstairs restaurant and nightclub, Peacock Alley, fashioned after the famous restaurant at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York city was opened. A giant peacock was painted on the rear wall of the room , and the seven sections (parlors) of the room were painted in blending colors to match the peacock. That theme has been carried through today’s restaurant, now know as “Peacock Parlors” which serves as a formal room for individual diners and for banquets and special events. Its elegance is unsurpassed in the region.
