The Vancouver Aquarium is a self-supporting non-profit society dedicated to effecting the conservation of aquatic life through display and interpretation, education, research and direct action.
About the Aquarium
The Vancouver Aquarium is the only cultural institution of its kind in Canada.
As a provider of education resources, national participatory conservation programs and scientific knowledge, we lead the way in the conservation of aquatic life through education, research, displays and direct action.
Cutting Edge Events
By hosting your event at the Vancouver Aquarium you can make a difference. As a non-profit organization all proceeds from your function go towards conservation, education and research initiatives of the Aquarium. Our largest events, which often exceed 1,000 guests, are also our greenest events. The Catering & Events team proudly supports the organization in its effort to affect conservation at all levels, and has developed a number of initiatives designed to reduce impact on our environment. Among those, you will find such success stories as our “Green Event” package, our commitment to 100% compliance with the Aquarium’s own sustainable seafood program, Ocean Wise, as well as sourcing local cuisine and ingredients, in an attempt to reduce our carbon footprint. As a member of Green Table Network, and true to our Sustainable Purchasing Policy, we continuously strive to find innovative solutions to assist you in greening your next event.
