Siesta Key (especially the public access at Siesta Beach Park) gets very busy and very crowded. Traffic, parking, and crowded beaches can be problematic for weddings on weekends. Longboat Key is definitely better in my opinion, but the beach access is limited.

Anna Maria Island and St Pete Beach are also great options.

We got married at longboat key club. While it wasn't a public beach it was very private. We didn't have any people in the background of our pictures. Siesta key is beautiful but does get very crowded.

There are plenty of public accesses on Siesta Key Beach that do not require permits, will not cost you a fee, and the beach and sand is so much better than Longboat Key! There is no comparison, really!

Depending on the time of the year you are looking to get married and the time of day will depend on the crowds. Because the beach access on Longboat Key is limited - you are more likely to have a larger crowd there than on Siesta Key, which has a number of public beach accesses.
